This is now a historical document. My heart is with the people of Lahaina. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with all of us from the mainland and beyond. Sending all my love back to the people of Maui and Hawaii ❤️
I am so happy you filmed this while I was there, given what has just happened. I watched it again yesterday and seeing my husband and I looking out at the ocean, taking it all in. It made me cry.
Yeah, it is such a tragedy! It was heartbreaking 💔 watching the fire on the news last week. I have a lot of good memories there as well. Still can’t believe we were there at the same time.
Masterful camera work, pacing, etc.. It really gives you the feeling of being there. A genuine public service made even more poignant given the tragedy that unfolded there not long after this video was made.
Thank you for this video. I was in Maui Thanksgiving 2017. I vividly remember strolling my grandson down Front Street and him playing on the little beach there. I was searching my memory for the location. Seeing the exact place he played was bittersweet. Wish I had taken pictures that day. Heartbroken for the loss of life and property. Maui will forever be in my heart.
Lahaina was incredible. I cannot believe it is completely gone. They will rebuild the town, and it will be incredible again, but it will never be the same. My heart goes out to all the residents and families who live there.
Thank you are another excellent trip through Lahaina. I am still sad that the majority of of this is no longer standing. I hope and pray that the people who live and work here and make a full recovery and allow Lahaina to thrive again.
I am so thankful you have documented this truly beautiful piece of paradise. I never got to visit. Perhaps once they rebuild and heal I'll have the pleasure. My heart goes out to all that lost loves ones and homes.
Mahalo for sharing this memorable Lahaina Maui walk. My condolences to the ohana that lost a love one, prayering for healing and comfort to the community there. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for this video. Maui was always on my list, but I never made it, never saw Lahaina. I, too, live in a seaside town on the mainland in FL. I cannot imagine the grief of Lahaina’s generational families and longtime residents. Now to hear real estate sharks are already calling the families offering to buy property 6 days after the fire. May Lahaina stay strong! 🌺
Great job on this channel for capturing the tranquility of Maui Lifestyle. Aloha. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families affected by the fires in Aug 2023. Praying for all. Greetings from California. #805 Area
I remember visiting Maui a long time ago. So beautiful with pristine beaches and kind people. What has happened is truly heartbreaking. Sending prayers and support to all of Hawaii.
This is a wonderful video! I was in Lahaina March 2023 for a whale watching tour. I hope Lahaina is rebuilt in a similar manner as the stores are here in this video. Best parts of Lahaina was walking through the shops on front street, having breakfast at Pioneer Inn, having dinner at Kimo's, going for a boat ride from the pier. My heart breaks for all those affected by the fires in Maui. Thanks for posting this video.
Just can’t believe it’s all gone. Such a beautiful place to see and visit. I had to watch this video to see again the shops and restaurants that we had gone to and so enjoyed browsing thru. My thoughts and prayers are with all the residents.
Really nice video! Slow walking and gentle camera moves. Not many walking videos are done so well. Way to go! Visited Lahaina in 2018, so this is a lovely reminder of that trip!
This video will surely go down in history as what was Lahaina once upon a time! Sad and tragic my heart goes out to all who lost lives and livelihood due to the devastating fires! Praying for a miraculous recovery! God Bless !
The physical buildings of Lahaina may be gone but the indomitable spirit of people in Maui cannot be extinguished by fire. Words cannot do justice for the tragic losses of lives & properties. Please rebuild Lahaina 'exactly' back to the old charm -- the way it used to be - as shown on this video. It may take years for Lahaina / Maui to recover from this tragedy but with God's help & with spirit of Aloha, it can & it must be done. God Bless!
who would have thought how significant this video would become after the recent events. with that being said sure Hawaii will bounce back. got a lot of support from people and viewers 👍
Thank you for sharing this tour of Lahaina...I walked that tour myself and the shade of the big old Banion tree 17 years ago..what a joy when I saw this vidio a month ago..and now 😢 its all gone..thank you for saving a beautiful piece of treasured History..
so beautiful, SO SAD 😢 I''m so grateful I was able to go just last october, it had been 15 years since I had been back. my mom and sister live 20 minutes north. just such devastating news today 😢
All the little shops had so much character and were absolutely gorgeous.I feel so sad for the people who lost their lives, homes and little businesses. To all the people of Lahaina, stay strong and keep fighting for what is yours.❤
Wow it's crazy I found your video, you made this the same month I was there for my birthday. You showed places I went to, the dirty monkey, the gallery with that awesome motorcycle, the banyan tree, you walked passed the table I was sitting at Waikiki brewing co. and some tee shirt shops. I am glad I was able to see all the beauty of Lahaina before it was destroyed. I am holding back tears because my time there meant so much to me more then any trip I've taken so far. My prayers to the people the city and the state, I hope for a speedy recovery. Thanks for your video. I will keep it saved for memories.
Yeah, it crazy that it was only 6 months ago. It is heartbreaking watching it on the news and seeing the aftermath. Sending my prayers for Maui as well!
The island of Maui was always one of the places I had wanted to see since I was a teen. I was blessed to vacation in Wailea & visit Lahaina in 2000 & 2015. So beautiful!! My heart ❤️ & prayers go out to the island community & business owners.
My wife and I were just there back in June, it’s such a wonderful place, too bad it’s so expensive. Although, February seems quite slow for tourists. Makes it a better experience. Aloha and thanks for sharing
No problem. Yeah, it is beautiful place. Definitely, the island is pretty expensive. Most of the people left on whale watching tours since it’s peak season right now.
I am deeply sad and stunned ! My wife and I went there many times and last time we were there was in April 2019 just before pandemic started. Beautiful historic city with old Hawaiian sprites all over there-old and beautiful Christian churches Hawaiian museums Japanese temple and historical Luau place and especially 150 years old Banyan tree--I am so sad for this devastated situation in my loving Maui -I don’t know how to encourage all these people who lost everything ? I donate and pray 🙏that’s only I can do? Anything can I do?
Tour video footage and photos might be a resource for local shop owners and residents for their insurance claims. My heart goes out to people who may have lost their documentation as well as their property. Please consider linking approved donation information. Thank you for documenting this beautiful town.
Me and my wife and son were on Lahaina for a full week just last April. Lahaina was our our place in Hawaii. We were there last year also. I can't believe it's gone.
I bought my favourite hat, a handsome Dorfman men’s white fedora with a black band around it, at the Paradise Lahaina gift shop on 718 Front Street back in May of 2018. I can’t believe it’s gone now. I hope Lahaina can rise from the ashes like the mythic phoenix and become the beautiful paradise it I once was. Prayers to all affected by this tragedy. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
😭Very devastating. Such loss. God bless the people of Hawaii, Maui Blessed to have marveled in such beautiful place. “ Heaben on Earth 7.17.23- 7.21.23 our Anniversary trip to Maui 🤍🌈
Seeing this beautiful place and seeing now, what the wildfire did to it, it's heartbreaking. But seeing so many building build with a lot of wood, powerlines that are outdated since centuries, that was to be expected. Since years the weather has been extremely, the wildfires all over the globe have increased, it was just a question of time for this to happen. Their was not even emergency alarm before. I feel with the people over there. 😢
I wonder were the majority of the business able to retrieve any of their merchandise before the fire.? Gallery's were very nice....I'm praying for the family of lost ones.God bless you.
