These look like great exercises for my level. Currently I'm stuck just short of a tuck planche and tuck front lever for a few months now. These exercises seem like just the thing to bridge the gap.
Great! Let me know how you go
Love this combination, Paul! Yes please, more planche videos. Thanks!
Great! Coming soon
i first got the idea for practicing the tuck planche from ur videos it has helped me very much. The interesting thing is that i didn't even practice tuck planche that much i got tight tuck planche really soon. I needed it for the strength purposes.
Yes it’s awesome and I think it should be part of everyone training for calisthenics and handstands
Awesome content, Paul! Just what I need. Definitely would appreciate more planche vids.
Great thanks! More to come
One thing i always wondered about the planche variations in general is that does different limb lengths for different people matter in the forward lean lever balance point. Because some people who are shorter in torso length but longer in arm length start with the hands shorter towards the body belly some who are longer in torso length but has shorter arm length like myself needs to start with the hands father away from the body to both keep the balance point lever position but also the upper back rounding = protraction
yes definitely, different body types will need different set ups, not just the planche distance of the shoulders but hand rotation, width etc. Normally Females look quite different in the same progression compared to males.
Thank you Paul for this amazing video, I was able to unlock the Tuck Planche. But I couldn't progress well in the height that I am holding the legs. Is there any exercises to increase the leg heights?
Check your mobility in the tuck position, it’s common people struggle with this
Thanks for this video Paul!
Your last lines were; tuck planch and ruck front lever go hand in hand, just like chin ups and Handstand push...?! But the last is a push and a pull?
Yes so I see front lever as the straight arm pull and Planche to be the straight arm push, same with chin up and HSPU (push and pull but bent arm)
Right so the compliment each other!
❤
How many times per week would you do this tuck-planche/front-lever superset routine in the case that you eventually want to move to straddle planche, etc.?
I would be aiming for 2-4 sessions per week but it depends on other skills you are training at the same time. If you’re working stalder press for example I would count that as a straight arm push like Planche
DOES THE PLANCHE LEAN WITH MAX LEAN REQUIRE MORE STRENGTH THAN TUCK PLANCHE?
No, they can both vary due to protraction, conditioning, flexibility to get into the Tuck position etc. Holding strong protraction in both can be demanding and each individual will push each skill differently so it's impossible to answer. My recommendation would be to train them both
@@PaulTwyman OK!
Thanks Paul. Could you do a video on how to improve the hips height in relation to the shoulders at the tuck planche? Some people say that low hips not aligned with the shoulders is just a matter of insufficient shoulder strength or leaning but others say lower back strength and glutes may play a role in it (like Coach Sommer saying sets of kettlebell swings being helpful for planche). I had hips aligned to shoulders years ago but lost it, though I can do sets of 18 seconds of tuck planche now the hips are still lower than shoulder height.
Yes I’ll cover this in a video as it comes up often when teaching classes. I prefer to get clients to start with a slightly higher hip during working sets of anything from an advanced tuck. That way there is a buffer to slower lower to during the hold.
@@PaulTwyman Great! 🥳 Thank you 🙏
