I think it's because the modern concept of all the cyberpunks and possible sci-fi futures were just made in the '80s. And no one made a sci-fi future that just sticks. Tell me, what do you think of when you hear the word future? You probably thought of the two ends of the spectrum, either a dystopia (bad future with cool tech) or a utopia (space-faring humanity with cool tech and alien friends.

Despite not even being an original composition (for the most part), this is easily one of C418's best songs. Not only does it have one of the most darn-tooting beats I've heard, but the synthwave soundscape is simply incredible. And there's so many layers. And the build-up is really good. And etc. Basically, it gets me into a groove every time.
I agree, this is possibly my favorite single song by him, mainly because of the vibe of it (I don't watch Stranger Things, I actually prefer this one strongly over the show's theme) and synth layering. But 148 and Excursions... Holy shit man, those albums are his current Magnum Opi if you know what I mean. The first 4 songs on 148, Habitual Crush, and 481772 are my favorites. And on Excursions, Beton, Leak, and my personal favorite album-based song by C418, The President Is Dead. That song is Psychedelic as fuck. C418 is the one who lit my flame of inspiration to make music, so I'm a lifetime fan for sure.
