The superhero genre isn't saturated per se. It's actually a very powerful medium that never gets old. However, the problem with the superhero genre is that most writers aren't living up to, or simply aren't taking advantage of, the incredibly massive, storytelling potential that can exist within the superhero genre, and so, ultimately, we end up with experiences that we're already familiar with and soon get bored because we've seen it already. Therefore, saturation isn't the issue. The issue is that writers keep following a certain formula of the superhero origin tale that keeps getting retold over and over again to the point where the formulaic paths become noticeable to us on an unconscious or subconscious level thus making the stories absolutely trite and dull.
Overall, the superhero genre remains very powerful as it speaks to many of us in society. Take a look at The Boys. It's an incredibly dark take on superheroes and presents a terrible reality if the "superhuman" came back into our era again. The Boys is something that breaks that mold. And it's a sick, dark, brutal, and emotional but funny tale that I believe would be something up your alley.

@@thephilosopher7173 I live in the UK and as an overgrown 40 year old child I am obsessed with films as I ever have been, my home theatre while far from being state of the art has become a genuine substitute for the theatrical experience, with passive 3D and a 5.1 sound system only usable due to the privilege of my living in a detached house. Due to a lot of personal isolation this last 8 years tentpole film releases have become more important to me than ever and while I still visit the cinema 3 - 4 times a year, I now look forward to my own personal 'premiers' of films I missed at the cinema once released on home video instead. A fan of the Marvel Studio releases, I fell behind at the start of 'Phase 3' and following the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. I let it slide up until and including the release of 'Infinity War'. But the catch up that summer was so much fun - I spent my B'day watching Spideman: Homecoming, Thor Ragnarok and the newly released Black Panther so as soon as Infinity War arrived on BD that September I made a day out of that as well. While I don't recommend watching films on ones phone, a half decent TV and love for this type of pop culture is all you need to get the full on experience and while the IMAX was breathtaking, I needed to go back a second time due to a lot of the dialogue being blown out, not a helpful thing when every word in the script is vital. The sound mix on the standard BD is perfect though and as such I am sure it sound fine on DVD and other formats as well. Last thing - I am sure that when this COVID nightmare ends and the cinemas re-open there may be a demand for IMAX screenings of Tenet. It has happened over here before - The Dark Knight got a promotional re - release at the local IMAX prior to TDK Rises coming out, back in 2012. They have also re - screened Dunkirk since its first release. Have a great Christmas - its great to see how much love there is for this film.

Like a lot of other people, I discovered him from the dark knight trilogy, but once I sat down and watched his other films(The Prestige, Memento, inception etc.), that really blew my mind as to exactly what kind of filmmaker he is. I'm grateful that him and Quentin Tarantino still write their own stories to adapt into great films, which seems to be another dying art

The psychological layer he instilled in the Batman character, a comic book character, gave the Batman universe a realistic and relatable commentary. I believe he could do the same with the characters from metal gear solid. Videogame film adaptations, historically, have been substandard. I trust Chris to make a videogame to film project.

Im think that JJ was only supposed to do force awakens, last jedi was supposed to be directed by rian Johnson i forgot the name of who was supposed to do rise of skywalker but it wasn't JJ, it's all Disney's and Kennedy's fault, the fandom too

30:29 Watch Nolan explain the writer's block, it resonates with the dream within a dream in Inception. If something is flawed in 2nd level dream there must be something wrong with the dream on first level, Nested flaws:)

Makes me wonder if he's read through the questions before the interview or he could just absorb everything that quickly.

I’ve never met Christopher Nolan but I feel like I’ve failed him in someway

I wish he would work on an animated movie not because I love them which I do but because he would have more control over every aspect of the film. For example he would be able to make the characters look and act exactly as he imagined them, it wouldn't rely on the actor talent. I know he probably doesn't like doing that and maybe he relies on actors to put their own touch on the characters but anyway it would be interesting if he did an animated film
