Just absolutely amazing. The way you tie all those songs together into this medley, and so seamlessly from one to the next. I must say I am extremely impressed by your prowess at the keyboard. I'm going on 76 years, and have been playing by ear for the past 65 or 66 years. Never learned music, but absolutely envy those that have. I play a very elementary stride style, and according to a friend of mine with his doctorate in music, I use mostly second inversion triad chords. Your left hand makes me want to cry,; my left hand is mostly wrist action - pretty mundane and laughable. I subscribed to your channel, and will be watching all of your videos. Thank you so much for posting.
Utterly mental transitions, beautifully imperfect just like the genre was designed to be. Joplin, is hard to beat, nice play with the syncopation and climax.
"Well... not quite ultimate." but a great performance "...and I hope you like it!" Definitely! (And caught the 'Bear Necessities' and 'Small World' there in the middle). Thanks!
You are what I’ve been looking for! I’m trying to learn how rag non ragtime songs I’d love to be able to do this. I can play from music but struggling to ragify other songs. Inspired!
Why are so many ragtime pieces played in flat keys? Are the bass jumps easier to play in Eb, Ab, etc? As a hobbyist piano player, I'm pretty comfortable in C G, D, A, and E and occasionally find F fits my vocal range. One or two times a year I'll play something in Eb. But I wouldn't even try to play in Ab or Db. If a song can be sung in G or A, why would a pianist complicate it and play in Ab? Just curious.
That's a very cool Medly, keep that up!

Dude this might blow up, the algorithm brought me here.
I made a similar comment on a similar video of Mitt Romney a few years ago. Zilch. Sorry. Lol.

and this Brier ending style, it is wonderful
That piano has a perfect sound for ragtime - very saloon-like!
10 minutes of pure pianistic pleasure.

I think it is that since the black keys stick up it's easier to find them when you make the jumps. Especially for composers who couldn't read music.
Good stuff
This was thoroughly entertaining. Excellent job! Have your fingers fallen off yet?🤣

Music Great, The special effects are a distraction, just Black & White works fine.

Don't feel like you've let yourself down with your "boring" left hand; I would never call any of what's in this video "boring".
