I just came from watching the movie with Chalamet…I highly recommend it! He and the whole cast did a brilliant job 👏👏Wonderful cast and acting . Bravo, and Feliz Navidad 2034! 🎄
Wow. Priceless, unsurpassably magnificent. Joan’s harmonizing saved Bob’s style unpolished voice. (And to all the critics of Bob’s voice: it was amazing and original and it improved for a number of years: Joan’s was just beautiful in an unearthly way…no other female singer ever compared.) the epitome of the zeitgeist of an era that we’ll never see again.
? um, I try to be honest. That song, and the way they sung, kind of shouting the lyrics, wasn't too riveting. What the people in the back were really thinking was, where the eff is Hey Mr. Tambourine Man
bob is old enough to be my grandpa (actually, he was born a year before my grandma), but i still feel some kind of nostalgia listening to his music. i never resonated with new music as much as i do with his (and others from his time).
@@BDFAN65I’m not sure if you mean the man behind Bob on his right, but if so, that is certainly not Pete Seeger. I’m sure Pete wishes he had that much hair in ‘63 though haha
I think you're right. The same guy was sitting behind Bob in another video and handed Bob a guitar pick. Somebody said it was Pete Seeger. I believed him 😊.
I was driving past a little village in County Cork, Ireland a couple of years ago. I visited the tiny local graveyard as a friend of mine was buried there. Among the headstones were those of Liam Clancy and his brother Paddy.
Seriously, Joan Baez was sooooo in love with him back then and, maybe, still now. Every video I've ever seen of them together she she glows like a young woman in love. 😥
Never listened to Dylan as a youth but know a lot of his songs from other artists that interpreted them. Saw the movie A Complete Unknown 3 times in the past week in cinema. Now I like him very much.

I can't find a full video of any live performance of this song,(from this era) it's driving me crazy. it never gets to world war two! and the critical section But now we got weapons Of the chemical dust If fire them we’re forced to Then fire them we must One push of the button And a shot the world wide And you never ask questions When God’s on your side
... note. ;;; he'll tune till it's perfect. And what's he tuning it to ? I don't see any EAD G B E s. lying around. I think those are in his head. That's more than relative pitch.. that'd be considered Perfect Pitch. ( unless one or more ofe the strings came out there tuned.) This is a wonderful piece of footage. Jane LPiepes 🎹💬🎸☔
He's got a choke on the guitar and it isn't holding down the E string well, which is why it sounds weak and muted. He's trying to fix that. It has nothing to do with pitch.
@@arryaxx263 sure it has to do with PITCH... if his own pitch wasn't spot on, he'd not care as much, and he'd just start the song.. He's gotta get that darn E string and won't start till its pitch is correct ...
Joan is wise enough not to sing in his octave rather puts him in a position of howling by singing one octave higher... Bob should have known enough to find a common range though..or he has fallen into his own trap?
I am absolutely against Marxism and Communism. My father has been and continues to be a life long Democrat who I believe does not analyze the issues of the present day with deep thinking. No. I am not a Republican! However, as a member of the human race I totally relate to this song If I was banished to a desert island with only one female singing voice to abide by me, it would certainly be the voice of Joan Baez, especially during her 1960s years. Jesus is Lord
and clearly you know nothing about what dylan wants to express. it's completely not what you said. not about the communism but people, just people. shame on you
she's all over the place even right fromr the beginning and then a little bit further on but yeah guitar was a bit but she's not with it and just doing her thing. I wish I didn't hear it lucky you😊
This is obviously unrehearsed. Joan has to be one of the greatest and of course Bob Dylan did some stuff too. We know what opinions are, we all have one.
You can sing in tune or you can sing with Dylan, but you can't do both. At least not at the same time. And it was totally up to her to try and follow his lead because he was never going to follow hers. If being in tune is really important to you Dylan's probably not the guy you want to be listening to.
Bring tears to this '60s geezer. Still relevant, too !

Can’t listen to this song without shading tears of nostalgia. Where have you been my darling young ones ?
Heard ten thousand whispering and nobody listening.

legendary moments of the folk-country era.....with raw Dylan and Baez! SALUTE!
Weren't they just great together ????
Did you see them 1965 Rehearsing at the Savoy Hotel ?
The guy sitting behind them is having his mind completely blown by these young kids, love it!
It's Pete Seeger.

Priceless. This was removed for years, now it's back. Thank you x.
Monaco Barbaro also deserves Kudos for her portrayal in her speaking and singing voice as Baez, just as much as Chalamet.

Good God in the Heavens 🤗 ive never heard anything like this
Young Jimmy Butler wearing Polo Shirt color black @ the back. Time travel. He is a Bob Dylan listener.
Per me questa performance musicalmente è una cagata pazzesca.

Wow
I just love Bob Dylan ❤
The young Bob Dylan reminds me of Ed Grimley? Looking forward to the Dylan movie. My favorite Dylan Gospel song is "you gotta serve somebody"!
Brilliant.
God help us this is good. Anybody out there have a time machine. Strap me in I'm ready.
what you would give to have lived this moment with these 2 legends ?
Magnifique merci ❤

funny how Clarence Ashley is just sitting behind them casually

At the Newport Festival we had this. Guess what? Now we have tick tock. Sad commentary on our times.
There still is really good music at Newport every year
The melody is taken from an English folk song "The Partiot Game"
Irish.
@@Leitros-kj4qb It's an older English tune, but 'The Patriot Game' has lyrics written by an Irishman, yeah.

I'm glad you said it. As much as I want to get into her voice she just ruins it for me personally and reminds me of a warbling goat 😢
