      Please include information about a filter. I found I needed a filter for both the Buddy and Wave 3 when the hoses clogged and they both stopped working. Got a filter and were back in business.

    Can you use one pound propane bottle with this heater?

  • @uncle_creepy2743

    Teflon tape is for pipes that rely on the threads for sealing, those propane heaters only use threads to lock o ring in place.❤

    IDEA : Some people make a metal stand over the heat and place quiet woodstove fans on it. I use these whisper quiet wood stove fans on my gas fireplace shelf top.

    Been using that exact same heater for about 15 years now...... the best of the best in my opinion. I had the larger one and it was way too strong..... sold it and got the smaller one and still have to run it on low

      Heck yeah. I believe this thing would still be working 15 years later. There is no moving parts or wires and you can trust that it will work every time. Yes, I have also purchased a portable wood burning stove for my tent as well as the stove jack and floor mat etc.,. I say " portable" but it's actually more like truckable (90 lbs).… 😂.,. I don't want some lightweight folding thin skinned woodstove like most people use... I want it to be like Miami beach in the middle of a blizzard bro....l 😆., Take care and be safe now !

    Do not use Teflon tape on 37 degree flare fittings, unlike NPT fittings, flare fittings don’t seal on the threads, they seal on the angled surfaces.

    • @altereddailyliving3213

      @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN Год назад

      @@z4u68 The folk that say they sip gas probably don't feel the cold like I do. I'd have it running almost 24/7 in winter and going by the specs, I'd be doing well to get one weeks use between low and high settings. That's around £30 in gas per week here for a 6kg/13lb tank of gas....refills every week and no room for a backup bottle means this would not make sense for me; not as my main heat source.
      My diesel heater is a great heater, it's just too hard on my batteries during the winter. I like how it runs off the diesel tank in my van, I just fill the tank as normal and my gas lasts months running only my gas ring cooker and oven.
      We need better heaters for vans that run on diesel and don't use much, if any, electricity.
      There are these types of heater of course (sig marine sell them) they don't run well on low settings though, so great for very cold conditions although not so good for those milder but still chilly days.

    There can be an issue with some of the hoses, releasing rubber atoms onto the catalytic device and ruining it. I am just studying this, not sure of the details there.
    Thank you.

    Great video. How much ventilation do you need? Do you run your ceiling fan or do you just keep the windows cracked?

    • @altereddailyliving3213
      @altereddailyliving3213  4 года назад +1

      Thank you very much. That is a good question. I usually crack one of my front windows and my roof vent. I also have a small dc fan that I run to keep air flowing. I picked up an outside hood cover for my fantastic fan roof vent. so far it has made it easier to open that vent when it is colder outside. I think a lot of it comes down to experimenting with your own set up. Hope this helped and I hope you have a great day.

    I was reminded the other day that the teflon tape for gas systems is yellow. Is there a difference other than color, I doubt it.
    A good many van lifers are giving this unit rave reviews. It seems the most popular heaters are by price...
    Budget option: Mr. Buddy
    Middle-of-the-road: Camco
    Deluxe option: Webasto

      I think they are rated for weight and temperature. I have never had a leak using the white. as far as budget heaters go the wave 3 seems to work very well for most applications. Budget might be a part of it, but it is very economical to run and a very easy installation. what heater did you go with?
      Thank you for watching the video. I appreciate your comment.

      It does not take a filter. It does a good job of burning up its own carbons. Thank you for watching and thank you so much for the comment. I have done an update video since this video originally posted. here is a link to it if you haven't seen it.

    The manual says to use a 2 lb propane tank. I've never heard of one. I have a 20 lb tank. Can I use that safely? And also, I've never connected a propane tank to anything before. The instructions say to use 2 wrenches but doesn't have a diagram and no videos showing dummies like me. Can you help? Thanks.

    These heat What's in the room ..t I have the big one and a ford van .. at 27 degrees to be warm you have to be right in front of it.
    The other end of the van will be ice cold and condisation out the ass ... I have sense got a small trailer to pull behind with my generator... it runs my elec baseboard... this heats the whole van ... The olympian heater it don't heat the air it needs air to run... But it don't heat the air... So you have to leave a window open... If it's cold or outside then 45 Well the window cold air the cold air is fighting the heaters warmer it's warmer and the heater loses... This thing works like a microwave it leaves my eyes all dry and itchy... It's my humble opinion you need to heat the air in your Van not the and not the items in your Van you need to heat the air.. It doesn't have a thermostat and on the mildly cold nights you turned it on low and you burned up... Super cold night you freeze the death... Medium cold night it's decent... Mildly cold nights you burn up. And there's nothing worse than sleeping in your Van with the wind down low enough someone can reach your hand in and unlock the door.. For me personally it is not a practical heater... I mean seriously it works like a microwave the inside of the microwave doesn't get hot the item in the microwave gets hot.. Kind of ridiculous when you think about
