My old 1.0 MPI 6N2 has just passed its MOT. It is one of the very few with a working electric open air roof. It uses almost no oil and will still happily cruise at 70MPH (110 KPH) on long journeys.
I think i have the same model its 1.4 16v 101hp, but i have some issues with it like when the car is being turned on cold (whatever season it is) it starts choking after a few seconds and the rpm's go up and down, when that happens i have to press the gas pedal and give it some revs then it sort of settles down and once there is a ping sound i think it tries to determine wether it should turn on the TNG (yes it has it which is sad and removing it would cost and be a risk if not removed properly). And besides that i feel like the gas is not really precise, sometimes when i have to give it a bit more rev and when i wanna just move off quickly chances are even if i don't press it too much the revs are gonna go super high and it annoys me so much, so that's why i always have to remind myself to not push it too much in order to avoid this from happening.
Hi @mihajlocolic01! Sorry for this massive delay on replying to you haha. Honesty, I just bumped on your comment by chance. It looks like I never saw it coming? Silly. Anyway, it is super hard for me to help you at this point but let me try. What does "TNG" mean? If I have to diagnose your car, I would start from the air intake, checking throttle body calibration and operation, and leaks until intake runners. Second, spark plugs, spark distribution and injectors (looking for misfires). A compression test will also help here in order to determine how healthy the combustion chambers are. I hope this helps and I understand your frustration! if you want, you can always provide me with more info and I will see what I can do. Happy to support you. Take care and good luck!
Those polo were really good and nice looking, brings a lot of childhood memories we had two of those,a 1.4 mpi a match series, and another one 1.0 mpi which only had the air conditioning system and alarm system with central locking which i would love to bring back if i see her ever again.
Absolutely agree! We used to say they are "war machines". Simple, durable, easy to fix, not a really high cost involved, fun, and pushing great with all the family onboard 😂. Of course this is not a V12 with uncountable horses under the hood, but it is fun nonetheless! Thanks for your comment!
@@javitobosch most cars of that generation are better than those jobbers nowadays, who have way too many un useful options who you don't need and are high cost of repairs. those cars were simple and having all the necessities while being enjoyable.
I love the 6n2, its my favorite generation of Polo. Which of the two you had turned out to be the most reliable, the 1.0 or the 1.4? I'm looking for a 6n2 as a first car for my brother and i don't know which engine to go with. Thanks
Very interesting watch it, even the same problems with my 6n2 1.4 tdi
At least your central lock is working perfectly
Nice 👍🏻
