I just watched this on Hulu last night. Crazy… And I loved every minute! 😂🤣 I hadn’t heard of Whack before but the trailer looked interesting so I put it on. I love documentaries, and learning about artists (actors, singers, dancers, and otherwise) who I didn’t know, so this was right up my alley. Like you said, at first, it plays out normally. Then the eerieness starts to set in. I got seriously creeped out during many parts and thought, “how did I not see or hear about any of this in the news?” Around the part when they were talking with Mari (and dude saw the owl) I stopped and googled Whack because I was starting to think that something was off- that maybe the documentary was not real. Well, I saw that Whack was real and has been on the scene for a while. I put the movie back on, thinking about how crazy the series of events were, then got to the ‘Mari in the cave’ part and *knew* that something was off. Then when the credits rolled and it was shown that she and some others were actors, I got my confirmation. 😂 Everyone’s acting was *so* good though, it all seemed very natural, genuine & real. Mari was the only real tell for me. The actress kind of played her just a _tad_ bit over the top towards the end. I really enjoyed this movie/documentary, ugh… _mockumentary._ 😂 Informative, eerie, creepy, a bit scary and fun to watch. That last scene… was that even Whack? Looked like a different person. They really put this film together well. So interesting. Also, excellent review! I’ve subscribed. 😊🧡
Loved it. Yes, it gets creepy. By the end I def felt like the producers were f*ckn with the viewers, which made it funny. So, it doesn’t have to be scary. it's just a matter of perspective.
I agree with your review it got wild and crazy back there. i still recommend it because Tierra Whack is not someone we can place within a specific box and the film shows a ride we all should watch it definitely felt like a horror movie
It was cool to watch without much background on what the film was (format-wise). Hulu has it categorized as “Documentaries, Music.” I’m going to recommend it to friends, but not give additional context, for max entertainment impact.
THIS 👏🏼 WAS 👏🏼 WILD. it has haunted me every day since watching. thank you for reviewing, i’m shocked so few people have talked about it since!!
she told the truth without directly telling the truth and she showed she was in agreement
