Yea those are called Gingerbread in English... but they're made a bit different. We also have those classic gingerbread "Lebkuchen" but the "real" Lebkuchen is like this, round shaped, with lots of nuts and sugar and spices!
I live like 3 blocks from the NOC and I remember back in the 1960s - 70s there was an old man named Raya who would drive his truck around Garfield NJ selling fruits and vegetables. Chancing upon your video made me remember that. BTW, although I live right by the NOC I've never actually been in there, and from what other people have said it's much ado about nothing.
@Nathaly Raya well especially if its the cheaper kind from the supermarket I prefer the lebkuchen with light sugar coating on top instead of chocolate, and also with some marzipan inside and without wafer (traditionally it has a wafer). But from my perspective its more about trying a freshly baked Lebkuchen from a renowned bakery or Konditorei (pastry shop) in your area. Usually these are much more expensive, but also bigger, juicier and taste much better than the „cheaper“ kind of lebkuchen you can get in the supermarket.
Ps: you definitely also should try Christmas Stollen. For the cheaper ones I recommend Edelmarzipanstollen (nice long word, eh?) from Penny discounter. The most traditional Stollen is Dresden Christmas Stollen (without marzipan, but very juicy anyway). Actually when I was younger I didnt like stollen that much bc of the candied orange peel inside the dough, but now I just love to eat it, e.g. for breakfast or a nice afternoon cake and coffee on a sunday.
Loved this video z It was quick , short & sweet . That mall has a variety of stores & stuff ( very cool ) Did you buy anything? That church was giving me creepy vibes .. Reminded me of the movie “ Jeepers Creepers”👀 I’d like to see how the map turned out in the frame .... Thanks again for sharing & taking us along 🤙🏻👍🏻
It did have some great stores. Still wished it was a little bigger lol. and more food options. I'll most likely check it out again in a few weeks to see if more stores opened up. yeah, I was a little spooked out about the church in the hill. It was very silent, and no one was around so.. it gave me the vibes. We usually always go in them. but I didn't go into that one. Also, its only a few minutes away from us. I'm sure I'll be checking it out again soon.
I just subscribed to your channel and turned on the notifications! I especially love your videos about Germany, because it is fun to see what an American thinks about my homeland. ❤
3:48 Those are Lebkuchen, a type of biscuits for Christmas

But you can actually get those in the US as well... stores like Trader Joes, Aldi, and so on sell them along American Christmas articles!

Beautiful scenery, oooooh the mall , lucky , I couldn’t go this weekend
The cookies were Lebkuchen (Gingerbread), its a special kind of soft cookies traditional around Christmas. There are slightly different types of it
