Your creativity really "shines" through with these original ideas. I love the centerpiece and adding the glitter and showing the different transparencies. I'm inspired!
I will be doing the candles and mixing pink glitter with a few Mason jars and a large Mason jar I will mix purple glitter. these will be great Christmas centerpieces.
Cathy B Thank you! I just presented small examples of what the effect looks like, but you can do so much with this by adding beautiful embellishments, crystals and fancy ribbons. :)
Aww! Thank you so much for your comment. It really makes me happy to know that this tutorial will help you with your wedding decorations. I didn't mention this in the video, but if you want your frosted glass to be a little less brittle, then lightly spray a coat of glaze/varnish on your pieces. Congratulations and I hope you and your spouse will have a happy life together. :)
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I’m going to make these for sure. I especially love the twigs with the bird...super creative...I’ve never seen anyone else on here make that. God bless you and Merry Christmas to you and yours
I love how all your ideas are one of a kind made tge cupid poop for Valentine's day last year in 5th grade tget all thought it was pretty funny and cool i also included the poem 😊 💙💘💌
Esmeralda Rojas Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. If you want to make a bunch of 5th graders laugh...then chocolate poop should do it! ;) HaHa! I'm glad you enjoy my ideas and I will try my best to keep posting more. :)
Thank you! You can use regular salt, but the effect won't be the same. You won't have as much texture. You have to put a generous amount or it will melt. :)
The decorations you created are beautiful. Have you tried coloring the epsom salt? Would food coloring or acrylic paint dissolve the epsom salt. Maybe powdered Rit dye. I will have to try your technique.
Thank you so much for the compliment. I have tried coloring plain table salt before with a few drops of food coloring and it works well, so I'm sure epson salt should work too. You just have to spread the salt flat afterwards to let it dry. Have fun! :)
Thank you. I was wondering that question, too, about coloring the epsom salt. This is my first time seeing your videos, and I like how you brushed off the excess salt, leaving a more frosted look. I also like how you showed fhe different textures and finishes with the extra layer of salt and mod podge. Thank you. 😊
@@singerAR0406 ...I've seen people on youtube use hair spray to "seal" their projects. But I always wonder if it makes the finished piece "tacky". I'm thinking of how my hair used to feel if I used too much hair spray. And if it got wet by accident, wouldn't that make it gummy? I don't know. I've never tried it with crafting, but that's what I picture in my mind. I would personally probably prefer to use an actual sealer, that is designed for crafting.
Also how did you get the Epsom salt to remain steady in the base of the jar in the centrepiece towards the end of the video? Is that just Epsom salt mixed together with mod podge so the salt stays steady?
I just filled the jar with epson salt and pored mod podge over it and let in penetrate through so that it's a little bit sturdier. But you can poke the branches into styrofoam and cover it with epson salt as well. I just used what I had available at the time.
I'm glad you like it. :) I didn't mention it in the video, but if you want the salt to stay a little longer and crumble a little less, then make sure at the end you spray your project with a coat of clear varnish.
I've never tried it with regular salt. I would imagine it to be very fine and it would devolve faster, but I'm sure it would have some other kind of frosted effect. It wouldn't look as crystallized as the bath salt. I think it's worth trying. :)
2012Vasilisa Mod podge comes in all sizes of bottles. You can get it at craft stores or school supply stores. Epson salt can come in a box or a bag at the pharmacy or anywhere they sell bath products.
Just a question are u a art teacher at a elementary school or just a outside of school. Teacher i notice that ure student's are from ten to twelve yrs of age (whatched mask vid)
Esmeralda Rojas I'm an elementary School daycare teacher and I work with students ages 10 to 12 years old. But I've worked with children of all ages from 4 month old babies to 6th graders. :)
I loved this idea...and the results are amazing. Thank you for sharing I can't wait to try. I also do have some neat projects on my channel so if you get the time please check them out! Thanks and wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas!!

Great project! STUNNING pieces. I wish i would of watched before Christmas! Love it!
Thank you! There's always next year! :)
+TheFuzzyDragon1 what else can you use if you don't have epson salt?
Alexander Smith You can probably use corse salt that you find at the grocery store right next to the table salt. :)
Thanks for the tip

Also can be done with cinnamon or granulated coffee for a primitive old worn rusty look
Thank you for the tip! :)

lisamr40 Thank you! It looks much better in reality. :)
Thanks for sharing! Can I use coarse salt rather that epsom salt?
Yes, you can . The results may vary a little bit, but it will have the overall same effect. :)
Epsom salts is wonderful for decorating for Christmas :)
Yes it is. :)
No thumbs down for fuzzy dragon 1 Yay!!! :3
Julia Lopez HaHa! Thank you for your encouragements. Don't worry...those thumbs down will come soon enough. ;)
I can't wait for your next video. ;)
Soon! :)
Beautiful....but the thing with Epsom salt is that it will break down, was wondering if a sealer would work and what kind of sealer would be best
Thank you. The best way to seal these would be to use a spray on type of varnish or glaze. :)
I saw another crafter do this and she used white rain hairspray...

@SophieMia806 I've never tried it, but in my opinion sealer has a better hold.
@Andrea Rivette I've never tried it. Let me know how it works out. :)
Bellissimi!!!
Carmen Hilda Grazie!
Instead of using gloss spray to make it more permanent, could you just coat it again when it's all done with another layer of mod podge?
Yes you can, if you brush it delicately, but in my opinion, I find gloss spray holds it much better. :)
Great, thanks. :)

Can the salt stand without the glass(molder) after drying? Thanks :)
Sorry for the late reply. No, the salt won't stand on it's own.
1st comment Yass. Its 12:20pm school night lol

does the epsom salt fall off at times?
Yes, it does fall off at times. You can rub off the excess or if you want it to be more secure, then you can spray it with clear glaze/varnish.
thank you. will clear lacquer paint work?
It will work if you are gentle with the paint brush. But I think the spray will work much better.
