I like the kit. I think if you roll the mesh down over the insulated part it would be out of the way and not melt. My guess on the way to use the kit is put your oat meal/dehydrated/freeze dried meal in the big pot in the insulated bag. Boil water in the smaller titanium pot to add to the big pot to soak and stay warm. While waiting boil tea/coffee water in the titanium pot, pour water into the SS cup and put it back into the empty titanium cup. There you go, hot meal and a hot brew. 😊.
To be honest I hadn't thought of that roll-down idea. I've bought myself an Evernew non-stick system - which wasn't cheap (over £100). I am keeping the Soto though. It all depends on the length of the trip.
In the US hikers are boiling water in the aluminum pot and pouring into dehydrated hot sacks to cook there meals. My Soto set works perfectly for how was intended to be used
What's your point exactly.? I don't drink hot beverages. So it wasn't the wisest buy. You can get any cheap aluminium pot to boil water in. You can also cook wet food in the pot. Nowhere does Soto stipulate the pot is only intended for boiling water only. By the way we also boil water and add it to freeze dried meals in the UK and we've got Broadband.
@@WildAboutCamping All you could focus on was that you couldn’t get it in the cozy to put your food in to stay hot . Roll the mesh down is all u need to do! You shouldn’t take it personally if someone disagrees with your review. But maybe that’s why you don’t have any subscribers! Lol
Tbh, I think there is a cross over of styles here. Whilst anything is “a cook set” I really don’t think a lot of these style things are aimed at actual cooking. Not just SOTO but also MSR mini solo etc plus more or less anything made from titanium which is the worst real cook material I ever saw … but light and good to boil in. And that’s the deal. Add a bag of dehydrated meals and this set would work fine for most solo packers and better than some others given the built in cosy/insulation options Just obviously not a match for what you use it for
@@WildAboutCamping lol of course we can do that. I'll point out these are engineered products and soto doesn't make products that don't engineer properly. Turn out the mesh bit and fold it down on the outside of the cozy, insert pot into the insulated part and pull up mesh bit.

What is it made of?
Sorry for late reply personal problems very busy etc. It's all aluminium.

Even the Siri has a snobby accent.
Not true. You can easily replace the 750ml into the cozy bag.
We agree to disagree

Aluminium, translate to English ✌️
Our language, our rules 😉 Joking apart Steve Jobs used to laugh at Jony Ive, his English chief designer for his pronunciation of Aluminium.
