    I'm not sure I fully understood the last one. Is there a separate use to mean that we finished speaking?
    I know about the emphasis and the use of tai ... le for example.
    Other than that thank you I learnt a lot from this video!

    • @MandarinHQ
      @MandarinHQ  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your question! I apologize if the explanation for the last one wasn't clear enough. To clarify, when you want to express that you have finished speaking, you can use a different phrase or structure. For example, you can say 我说完了 (Wǒ shuō wán le), which means 'I have finished speaking.' The use of 'tai...le' is indeed for emphasis, as you mentioned. I'm glad you learned a lot from the video, and if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Happy learning! 😊

      @@MandarinHQ Thank you for responding! I'm sorry it's taking me time to understand. In 我说完了, what exactly is the use of 了?

    • @MandarinHQ
      @MandarinHQ  Год назад +1

      @@SK3564 Absolutely no problem, I'm here to help! In the sentence 我说完了 (Wǒ shuō wán le), the 了 (le) is used to indicate the completion of an action. In this case, it shows that the action of speaking (说) has been completed (完). So, 我说完了 means 'I have finished speaking.' If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! 😊

    Great video. Thank you 😊.
    Could I ask a question.
    If i ask 'for how long' I believe I'd use 'le'. But if i say "stay how long' it seems i wouldn't. What accounts for this difference.

    • @MandarinHQ
      @MandarinHQ  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Regarding your question, in Chinese, the particle "了" (le) is commonly used to indicate a change of state or completion of an action. When asking "for how long" in Chinese, you can use "多久" (duō jiǔ) without the need for "了" (le). For example, "你待了多久?" (Nǐ dāi le duō jiǔ?) means "How long did you stay?" On the other hand, when asking "stay how long," you can use "多长时间" (duō cháng shí jiān) without "了" (le). For example, "你待多长时间?" (Nǐ dāi duō cháng shí jiān?) means "How long do you stay?" The difference lies in the specific phrasing and context of the question. I hope this clarifies it for you! Let me know if you have any more questions.😊
