@@ISITWORTHITUK Couldn’t believe my luck, i literally walked into the showroom, the model, colour and optional extras I wanted was there in front of me ready to purchase. That was a week ago, I guess it was meant to be.
I think the Mk II Peugeot 308 is a very good looking car, the most stylish car in the C segment (VW Golf class) and it goes unmetioned by reviewers that it is also the lightest car in it's segment which makes it's rivals feel heavy to drive, so top marks for agility and grip. I like your review of the lateet 308 though.
Fair review with a good deal more insight on the driving experience than most reviewers manage. I've got an GT SW Hybrid on order, but not expecting to get hold of ot anytime soon. Dealer has been one of the best in my experience.
Thanks for watching and for commenting. The SW does look immense specially with the GT trim. Please let us know what the hybrid is like? Peugeot are renowned for great diesel engines especially in the SWs so how come you went for the hybrid this time around? P.s A lot of BMWs use Peugeot diesel engines.
Dealer has been good to be honest they’ve given me updates at least every three to four weeks but nothing as yet I’ve not signed anything or left any deposit I have been told I could cancel the order But I really want the car so I guess it’s a waiting game I did ask is it because I’ve ordered a red one ? And not a green one that it’s taking longer but they didn’t give a reply very frustrating
@@andrewnicholson72 same for me, I ordered a red 308GT petrol in May with a 20th July'22 delivery date. That got put back to 20th August and then informed that it is now 23rd October delivery. I think the colour is the delay here as I've seen stock for the black, grey and some of the green but they didn't last long.
@@darrenrichards4840 I think your right I’ve seen white ones a black one green one even a blue one never seen a red one I have had two conflicting updates in the last two weeks one saying it looks like it will be delivered end of September which I don’t believe because it’s not been built yet then a second one saying it will be built in sept so if you factor in the two weeks it takes to get to the dealership mid October is probably true.
His description makes me want to cancel the order for the 308 gt premium. But having had the 307, 208 gtline, I'll ignore his comments and wait and see what I think of it. I'm not buying an electric car until a new type of battery is invented and selling a secondhand electric with the battery power of a matchbox toy will be a joke.
10mins into the review before we start driving. Cars are not fashion pieces - they are a mode of transport so handling, safety, performance, engine are the important features. The 1.2L petrol engines are not brilliant. Mechanics are starting to have a few problems with them (timing chains - oil leaks). Still a good car.
Totally agree mate. Peugeot's cornerstones in the long past have always been "The way it drives, high dynamics" and "Brilliant ride/handling compromise". Peugeot have lost their way for many years now, and with this new car, continuing.... Peugeot are clearly now trying to target "fashion motorists" like Mini/BMW are doing and Fiat. I think they are missing their target audience now.
I had mine delivered early March, it is really fun to drive. Unfortunately the software sucks and I have the impression that Stellantis does not really care.
@@ISITWORTHITUK I spoke to the garage where I bought the car. They confirmed that I was not the only one with these complaints but they have to wait until stellantis wakes up...
@@lucweyn4268 I hope they look into it quickly as the system itself isn’t that bad it’s just quite slow and buggy. Apple CarPlay seemed quite slow also.
@@ISITWORTHITUK There is a lot more than just being laggy. "ok Peugeot" hardly ever works, the radio shows one station but plays another, sometimes it is just impossible to change radio stations, had it, fortunately only once until now, that after starting the engine, all screens remained black, the MyPeugeot app does not work with this car... And above all that, there is no real road assistance anymore from Peugeot. Only during the warranty period and never for a flat tire. No more assistance after a yearly full service.
Disappointing that a manual gearbox is only offered in the base line of trim. Not that there is anything wrong with the Peugeot 308's base trim... other than the fact that Peugeot Australia don't bring the Active Line in to Australia, so it's auto, auto or auto for we Aussies. That's a real shame, as I'd really like a manual, diesel 308 WAGON, but not available to me... 😥 (I'd also prefer fabric seats to nappa leather)...
When you criticise the boot capacity, it's important to qualify your statement by comparing it to its rivals. Do you that and you'll discover the 308 has one of the largest boots in it's class. There is a readon for the boot lip, it gives the car huge torsional stiffness. If it were to be flush with the floor of the boot, the car would be much weaker. This is why estate cars are typically less stiff than their hatchback and saloon versions. Personal opinions are fine but please do your research to justify your comments. Just keep in mind the very clever team of automotive engineers, who designed this car and think about their reaction to your comments before you make them please. Your journalism will be much better for it.
I've read in youtube comments, how original and stand outish this new Peugeot 308 Hatch is. Glad I am not the only one seeing, its just like every other modern premium hatchback on the roads today.
@@ISITWORTHITUK Well, it's not just a "feel". Peugeot cars have already been considered to be premium for quite a while now (circa 3008 mk II). Not "almost" premium. This new 308 is in a class of its own in the C segment. The only downside is the small selection of available engines.
Picking up my GT premium 225 hybrid on Saturday i can’t wait

Love to get the hybrid on the channel.

How tall are you?
Thanks for watching Anthony and a tiny bit over 6ft 1 👍
Diesel model now cheaper than the petrol
HDI is decent as well for what you’re paying.
needs to have panoramic roof

10.13 Lesson on how to drive required here methinks....😁😁😁😁😁😁

We can see Peugeot have paid much closer attention to detail in terms of interior and exterior design which overall gives a more up-market feel.
