- In this video I showcase an AliExpress Telecaster (made in China) that I bought from Eddie Ojeda from Twisted Sister. Eddie and I have been friends for a while now and we like to mess around with guitars... both high end and parts casters just for fun, and when he offered to sell thius one to me for $200 I jumped at the opportuity. Eddie is one of my childhood heroes so to own one of his guitars is very cool for me, even if it's a fake Allie Express Telecaster. Anyways.... this guitar looks cool and has a nice relic to it and a fantastic neck. The hardware is great too other than the microphonic pickups. In this video we take a close up look at the guitar and I also do an audio demo. I am contemplating what to do with it regarding upgrades. Let me know what you think in the comments below. I hope ou like the video. Please subscribe!

def a follow up video please
Wow I'm honored to be the first viewer! Watch your channel faithfully keep up the good work!
How cool . Buddies with ed ojeda . Love twisted sister .
Got me a chibby couple weeks ago it's bad ass.
Nitro honey burst plain top solid maple cap .
Fn immaculate fret work and the fret nib work is the same.
Dropped a couple hand wound alnico 3s in it sounds like heaven.
Cool video. I dug that twangy pickin’. Definitely looking forward to the follow up video if/when you change the pups. 👍🏼
Thanks man, I just kinda let it rip best I could first take lol. I am looking forward to getting the new pickups in!
Looks like a copy of Jeff Beck’s 54 Esquire he used during the Yardbirds. It has the tummy and forearm carve done to it. He traded it to Seymour Duncan years later. With the added neck pickup on yours, it does look very Keith! Keep us updated!
Cool! I knew someone would have a reference to check out. I was unaware of Beck's 54. Thank you!
Love my ali les paul input can't work on them tho but i gig with mine and love it! Love the channel marty
I have a Chinese les Paul greeny that is really solid. I love it. Thanks man I appreciate you watching!
Very cool video! I'd chop the ashtray bridge and throw in a Seymour Duncan JB. LOL😅 Just kidding man. I'd leave everything alone since it was Eddie's and ask him to sign that baby. Thanks for the excellent video 😎🎸
It sounded pretty good, and had a nice 70's Stones vibe/tone, with the pickup switched.
You gotta do a vid on some of those country licks, but gear it towords rock players.
I wanna learn some of those, man!
Nicel video man, think this is the first relic guitar that I actually dig the looks on, really cool😎
Not too bad for a cheapie. Love the patina look. Love that Fender twang. Yep, new pick ups would clean up the sound and make it come alive. Can't wait for your next vid on this one.
I think a follow up with the new pickups would be very interesting!!🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻😎😎
I like Partscasters. I think I’m going to start putting one together later this year.
My ‘21 mim Player Plus Tele has a belly carve but not the arm carve. Love that guitar
Let's see more!!!
Hey Brother, definitely fix the microphonic issue, but I’d leave the humbucker in the neck, keep the vibe. Awesome!
Yeah, I hear ya man, I am gonna leave the humbucker in the neck. I dig it 😀🎸
I had the Beck Esquire version (also seen with Jimmy Page on the Milton Berle show!). The fat neck was my favorite part. I replaced the tuners and string retainer. Then I replaced the pickup (with a Duncan, cause he has the real one now), it fell apart. Just a bundle of slugs and wire in my hand. The switch was also junk but I sold it before I replaced it. I enjoyed it. Played a couple gigs with it. Great “Guitars, Cadillacs” tone.😎
Potentially a Killer Axe...I have a $5,000 Custom Shop Fender Broadcaster...Its still a "Crude" Instrument in it its purest form . Its a Bolt on neck and no better than my other Tele, a $350 Chinese 'Partscaster"
I've been amazed how many of these really are quality. I think they are super solid!
I had a friend back in 1997 who bought some Fender Tele brand new out of a local music store that had the contour carved body I specifically remember that along with Lace Sensor pickups. He paid in the $750 range back then. It was an off red color with white pick guard.
wow cool, I knew only third party teles with such bodies.
Pickups yes but defo electronics, didn't actually sound that bad but the noise would drive me nuts, decent pots and switch (and pickups) would take it into a new level. Keep us posted.
I'm in for a follow up vid. Interested to see what kind of improvement can be made to a Chender tele.
Hi Marty, like others have said, for what its worth I'd leave the configuration with better pickups. That's a little different than the standard thing and different is good.
Yeh, I agree. I will leave the configuration as is. It's unique and I like the humbucker in the neck. It's really useful!
Change the pickups and have Eddie autograph it. Done❤
Yes great idea man!
Do it man!
Since it came from Eddie go for the pickup swap the Tele control plate and wiring with good pots is pretty inexpensive the relic job is cool to me do it to it Marty 🤘
It was worth it just to hear how Ojeda is pronounced. I have been saying O-hay-da for my whole life.
Technically you are correct 😃
You could put a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat in the neck...it's a covered P90 in a humbucker spacing. Or Dimarzio has the Bluesbucker, which looks like a humbucker, but it's mainly a single coil with a dummy coil to buck the hum. Both SD and Dimarzio make noiseless singles for the bridge.
Dang. Pretty sweet.
Keep the Humbucker in the Neck position. 👍🏻🎸🤘🏻
guitar looks good.I would put good quality PAF humbucker and fender single coil.
I agree man 😎
Marty I would definitely change out the pickups but that's me I'm sure you will so whats best
Leave it be, that's a MINT geetar! 🍻
I think it looks great the way it is! Regarding the pickups, personally I like all my guitars to have a unique voice. So.. if you already have a traditional tele, then I’d replace them. Anyway… just my opinion. Great story regardless!!
I vote keep it like it is. Does the string tree have a spacer under it?
I'll check 🎸🙏
Yes, change the pups with the same configuration. Make the follow up video and then sell it to me up here in east TN. Thanks
Definitely man, I wanna keep the configuration and just upgrade the pickups. The tuners are really stable and feel great so I am
Gonna leave those alone. Plus they look aged and cool!
@ while I be got you, have you ever tried the Boss SDE 3000EVH. I picked one up and love it. I Use it in the wet dry wet configuration for that fantastic Edward sound
@@jessienidiffer9440 yeh I had a chance to test one out before. It's fantastic! I need to get one for my own personal use. 😎
With all your gear, you could use your Marshall plexi, Friedman and JCM 800. You would have a great wet dry wet rig. You have enough cabs to use 3 full stacks. What a video that would make. And with the Frankie, SWEET.
I bought the Jack Daniels custom shop tele fake from ebay and they spelled Tennessee with an f TENNFSSEE didn't notice until i got it. I checked back and all of the fakes are spelled the same. fun guitar changed the F to an E
I would more or less leave it like it is but put a homebucker in the neck again and a single call in the bridge. It's and give it a good setup
The contour body is based on Jeff Becks Yardbird era esquire...
Put the same configuration but better pickups and have Eddie sign it, and you're good to go.
what pick ups and tuners are you going to swap out with ? curious
I'm gonna leave the tuners. I like them. They're solid and patina looks good. Tone specific bridge and maybe a wide range pup in neck? Not sure on the humbucker yet.
I would just do something against the small flaws, like the "microphony" - keep the pickup configuration, and even the tuners if they work. fix the sitar sound and the guitar would be something special. there's decals that say Fucker TELECASTER CUSTOM. put that on the head and it's all good xD
as far as I can tell there are no Fenders with such a body. other companies did that, though.
You can sand too much on the back of the neck and mess up the skunk stripe.
Guitar is a guitar,if it plays and feels right. follow up
This guy just can't come up with something that doesn’t catch my attention!
That's where my time goes. Man!
does Eddie have TS money or did dee get it all..?
I don't talk money with Eddie. It's none of my biz!
It's a Sad M'Fer?
Sick! 😎🤘
Upgrade the pickups and leave the rest be.
Replace them, they sound to cheap for my ears.
Eddie is twisted sometimes, butt a hell off a guitarslinger! ♨️🪨♨️
He's a trip. Love that guy. He is hilarious and a great player.
