Thanks for your advice! I know this Problem well and this Trick is worth trying out. I would love to hear your apinion about baroque/ historical Oboes and historical performance practice. Thank you very much.
I love historical oboes! They are beautiful and so much lighter to play. I do think that it's not so easy to master both modern and historical instruments at the same time (at least for me) so i stick to the modern for now.
@@BeyondOboe Tank you very much for your reply. I love them too. My conflict is always wether to use historical or modern Oboes for the different styles of music. The sound is so diffrent. What do you think? I loved your Strauss concerto. Its wonderful to have an Oboe channel finaly. We are so underrepresentated in the Music community. Thank you for that!
I really appreciate your comments! I put music before the instrument, I think we can play baroque music well on modern instruments. I think I Bach for example knew how far the instruments would go, he will be happy to hear his music played on them. I go in this direction of thinking. Understanding the music that you are playing is more important and I do think that historical instruments give us clues about interpretation and understanding how the pieces where written at that time for those instruments. I love hearing Marcel Ponseele for example. He is above the instrument and a big musician. So at the end of the day it's really up to you what you would prefer to use I think. It's great that you have the options.
I can’t afford reeds so I’m playing on reeds that are over a year old and it’s really showing. I don’t know if this will help at all at this point, but I’m willing to try anything.
It works!!! Thanks Marin! Now I don’t need to make reeds for a few more weeks 😅
now you can enjoy life instead :D
