"The best storage is reserved for things we don't use often!!!" Katherine/Elle, this is simply brilliant. My cluttered buffet top has a drawer in which I store guest cloth napkins.... Because I had it in my head that the buffet had to be for dining room stuff. But honestly, it is the main drop spot for when we walk into the front door, and the drawer would be better used as storage for everyday stuff! 1. I totally needed this video right now (April 2017) 2. I have no idea how I missed it in January, as I watch all the WUM's episodes... 3. I have a space that was designated "DO NOT PUT ANY STUFF HERE" the top of my buffet, but it's such a handy drop space when you walk in the door... so it's now full of clutter 4. I also love Katherine and DoItOnADime, so this video is a double bonus! xoxo

One thing I will love when I move out and on my own is being able to keep things clean. I'm so type A about things. I love it when floors are swept and everythig has a place. My parents and siblings are all slobs and our house is a mess. I clean up after all of them and it's still so bad. I try so hard but I'm only one person. Can't wait to invite the family over to my house and have it gorgeously clean ! I'm OBSESSED with things being organized. I board my horse at a barn, and while I talk with the barn owner (close family friend) I start at one end and organize the whole barn. I clean out tack rooms and shelves. I've been boarding there for 6 months and the only thing I have left to do is dust the place and clean out one storage stall. And I like to organize when no one is around, I don't want credit, I just love being done and looking at the organized space, especially barns and houses. It's so satisfying. Walking into my house is like a bad hair day. It's like everything is so wrong.
you should really DONATE things rather than throw them away! a lot of homeless shelters (especially those with single moms and kids) and thrift stores would really appreciate craft supplies, and it saves them from cluttering up the landfill!

Omg! That last part about putting down a sign not to put anything on the counter and then your husband walks in and puts down an amazon box- my life!!! We don't have a counter when you walk in, just our big dining room table and it basically becomes like our junk counter. After I organized it I begged my husband not to put anything on it except for the usual essentials that have homes. He promised and then like the next day it was cluttered again! Ahhh but luckily not as bad and now it is more manageable. I did that before watching this video but this gave me lots more good ideas. If you have any ideas though on how to train your husband I'll take em ; )
