Theres a video of Jimmy Jam or Terry Lewis (they were in one of those groups) talking about this. They created 800 songs for MJ to choose from. There are accounts from people involved with Thriller who say that, when Michael was in the studio and not laying his vocals down he would be practicing dance moves. Nothing more. Rod Temperton wrote Thriller. Dont you know anything? Michaels only involvement was telling Quincy Jones that he wanted it to start like Prince's "1999"

I do appreciate these videos with the people who came together to make this incredible, magical record. I have fond memories of playing Thriller in a cd player as a little girl in 2004 and carrying it around, just absorbing the sounds and instrumentation that went into each song. Amazing how good music transcends time. ❤

@@onesong2001 You’re right but it made those rare times we had to ourselves so much better. My first check l went to the PX bought a really nice Walkman and the new Thriller album.I was an MP and it was rough but something about that beautiful melody got stuck in my head.
