      Víctor Hernández Triana how? Serious question

    • @victorhernandeztriana5311
      @victorhernandeztriana5311 5 лет назад +123

      Glorious Lordjim well unlike Anglo-America, and Brazil, Native Americans outnumbered Spanish colonists in colonial days. Mostly single men colonized Spanish America as well. A lot of “native Americans” in Anglo America would have the same genetic admixture as the majority of some countries in “hispanic” America. For instance, 60% of Mexicans have an average of 56% Native American ancestry. 30% of Mexicans have over 90% Native American ancestry. And most Peruvians are over 90% Native Americans.
      Remember that Mexico and Peru were cradles of civilization with huge populations and massive cities when the Spanish arrived. The most famous tribes were the Aztecs and Mayans in Mexico, and the Incas in Peru. Yes many died, but still many survived to reproduce.
      Also, Native American is a single race that extends from North to South America, not just the USA.
      And Hispanic is most definitely not a race, just a label for people from a Spanish speaking country.

    • @theart0fglory
      @theart0fglory 5 лет назад +35

      🤔 appreciate the knowledge I’ve been thinking that some blacks might have mixed with natives too since they were enslaved along side the Indians what do you thing about that?

    • @victorhernandeztriana5311
      @victorhernandeztriana5311 5 лет назад +46

      Glorious Lordjim yes that is true. In Mexico most Mexicans carry an average of 4% African dna from the slave days. The Caribbean also have significant African ancestry, more than on the mainland usually.

    • @fragolegirl2002
      @fragolegirl2002 5 лет назад +11

      Glorious Lordjim well when Christopher Columbus discovered America he did not land in USA. So guess what else is defined as America? Yep you guessed it. north and South America is defined as America the continent as a whole. Many countries have only 6 continents not 7.
      And if you remember in history, Columbus encountered the American Indians called Taino, yep even your US schools defines Latin America’s indigenous as American Indian and even Native American. United States actually recognizes both America to be a continent and a country. That or they are bold face lying that Columbus discovered a country called America. Nope he discovered the continent.
      And no it wasn’t in Haiti that Tainos lived in, they lived in the south of hispañola which is now Dominican Republic where a significant amount of people are mixed with black, spanish and Taino ancestry, while Haiti is mainly pure black. Columbus headed south because the tainos originated from South America.
      But Native American is only used in United States. No indigenous person in Latin America calls themselves Native American. It’s just something mestizos (or what you call erroneously Hispanic) happen to impose on native speakers of Latin America. Indigena is the popular word used or a better exclusive term is Amerindian or Amerindio also less common American Indian or Indio americano.
      Many Quechua Indian people fight with mestizos to get abya yala to be recognized too as the name of the continent. But mestizos have refused and only accept the European name, America. Since they are the majority, they win

Also the largest full blood tribe in the United States live in Phoenix they come from the Navajo Nation, I drive the freeways of Phoenix, see a lot of Native American artwork designs and even mixed Latino race living together you may not have seen the Native Americans walking around downtown Phoenix but you will see the artwork mixed with different cultures just driving through the freeways of Phoenix and downtown landscapes.. This video does not show everything about Phoenix and Arizona it's just showing the big cities.. also the Southwest tribes are easily identified they are usually darker and have features that a lot of Northern tribes today do not show the features that most Southwest tribes have, because of that here in Arizona when we had a sheriff call Arpaio, blended the tribes as illegals so we can get pulled over.. The city of Guadalupe near Tempe Arizona with Yaqui tribe status had many run ins with Arpaio Goon Squad, our skin color down here in the Southwest was our sin that included all Southwest tribes, it was more so here in the Southwest and other tribes throughout the United States, Az Red state vs New Mexico and California

    Since they were the original inhabitants and the most ancient of races in the US, they have a lot to offer in terms of oral history, culture, way of life. If they have preserved their subsistence way of living, I am sure their natural environment is pristine and unpolluted. Indigenous people are normally the guardians of mother earth, because of them, there is probably remaining natural beauty that is preserved. I hope these people will be valued for their potential contributions and their history preserved for generations to come. There should be pride in being an original race.

    I am a member of the Cherokee Nation. I do not find the Cleveland Indians mascot to be offensive. I am not aware of any Irish people offended by Notre Dame's fighting Irish character. What is offensive are all the false promises given native tribes, and the worthless land most of them were given to call home. Also, it'd be nice to explain why alcoholism is rampant on Indian reservations. By the way, most so called Native Americans do not find the term Indian to be offensive. We use the term ourselves. I was a teacher in high school for 30 years, many of my students were black. I had them tell me this exact phrase: "only white people that are afraid of us call us African Americans". They used the term black, or other words that I truly find offensive.

    “As a way of saying sorry”. Are you kidding? Many native Americans were forced onto reservations (Trail of tears is an example) which often consisted of land that was terrible, not useful for farming or with a reliable source of water. Not completely factual. EX: the berring straits walk was debunked years ago. Natives have unique dna not found anywhere else in the world. Many facts excluded. EX: research “kill the Indian save the man” era- continues to date. The government restrictions combined with the barren land aka reservations created the highest poverty rate; 3rd world living conditions; Navajo without water- a never ending list. The conditions of the 1st Nations (1st to occupy the nation aka North America-no borders aka Native Americans) are so dire highest suicide rates; alcoholism, etc is the symptom. Now the government deliberate act of barren land has been deemed valuable for resources (drilling); a lot of land grab taking place. True Native History is not accurately portrayed in this video...

    My best friend moved to Oklahoma (from Delaware) about 10 years ago because her husband was originally from there and he still has family there. Well, apparently, he is 1/28 Native American and out there, if you can prove that you are pretty much any amount Native, you qualify for a little something called “Indian Commodities “. Yes, every month you get to go to a warehouse looking place and get free food. And while the 4 hams and 5 pound blocks of cheese are certainly pretty nice, we would always seem to end up with a pantry full of freakin farina, canned fruit and shelf stable 1% milk! Lol. I guess it just Oklahoma’s way of saying sorry for screwing you over. Oh and by the way, everyone at the Commodities place didn’t LOOK Native American either! They just looked like regular ole white people. But that was just in my experience anyway.

      There are alot of tribal citizens that are majority ethnically white because the US enforced blood quantum. Some tribes blood quantum is important so they are more ethnically AmerIndian, but other tribes, such as the Cherokee Nation in north eastern Oklahoma, having family on the rolls regardless of ethnicity is what what matters for citizenship. I think people confuse being part of a tribe as the samething as ethnicity. Blood quantum was something the US came up with to determine who is native enough to have land and aid regardless of any tribal traditions

    • @briannaa9042
      @briannaa9042 2 года назад

      I grew up and was constantly asked if I was adopted. Mom and father look far more Native than me. All of their Native ancestry stems from Oklahoma (or at least those who were relocated there). I'm essentially a laundry list of tribes and my quantum comes to roughly half. Genetics are weird like that. At this point, everyone is so intermixed, especially in states like Oklahoma in particular, it's just kind of assumed that everyone there has some fraction (albeit small for a lot) of Native blood.

      Don't forget about the "we conquered you guys fair & square" whites & the "well, indians were fighting each other anyways, so genocide os okay now" whites.

    Us natives also love deer, chokecherries, huckleberries, salmon, wild onion, wild rice, sage hen, wild carrots, wild potatoes, pine nuts, and many other natural healthy foods.

    I'm white and native American tribes Miami and Cherokee mixed. I didn't understand why you didn't add Indiana, Tennessee and Virginia. You should add a Native American tribes history in USA.

    Interestingly the Turkish language has more than 400 words in common with Native American languages. Cultures are very similar. According to the scientific facts, the “Y” chromosome of the Native Americans is uniquely matching with the Turks.

    I am a Métis from British Columbia, in Canada. I have Native relatives in Alberta, yet my side of the family is mostly European. I’m proud of my partial (yet minuscule) Native ancestry, and I plan on making a comic depicting the tribe on the land I live on- the Cowichan Tribes, in east-central Vancouver Island.

      What’s your blood quantum? Because Métis don’t always get treated unfairly the way people who look native get treated. So if you aren’t visually recognized as a native and have the struggles that come along with that why would it make sense for you to make a comic about a tribe which is full native. You said it’s minuscule your ancestry so make a comic about having a minuscule amount of ancestry

    Hey Nick I guess Utah barely missed the cut. Fun fact, our State was named for the Ute tribe, and our State college teams are the Utes(something the tribal members not only approve of, but revelle in) We adopted a little native dog off the rez(sad story ,but she's O.K. now) she resembles a bear so we gave her a native name for bear , she is Nitah.
