I'm back with a new movie & it's Mean Girls!! I love the original so much so this was such a fun watch for me. I know A LOT of people are hating on this movie but idk I just LOVE IT. At first I was not gonna watch it because of the hate it received, but then I saw some of the clips of the movie, so I decided to watch it and I really enjoyed it. I don't get the hate. I feel like it is easy to nitpick when you saw the og movie and musical. I did saw the og movie and musical but I still loved the movie. As a stand alone I think it's good

"I'm literally going to be thirsting over Renee this entire time" is so real 😂😭 Renee is the loml fr. Karen's dance break was so amazing loved it. Bebe wood (Gretchen) was in a show 'Love, Victor' and she was so good in it, you should watch it if you haven't.

the two damian in two versions are both iconic, they really chose a good damian in 2024 the OG damian will be proud.
for Musical lovers they will appreciate this version. but for people who really love the OG version, i understand if they don't like this musical remake.

The people who hate this movie just hate fun
I didn't mind the movie, I didn't like that tiktok was used throughout the whole thing, it made it feel a little tacky in my opinion. The songs on the Broadway show are definitely performed better and I kinda wish they casted a kady who could actually sing the songs, though I do actually like the actress who played her just not her singing so much.
It was fun though and Renee is amazing, I found the actress who played Karen great shes very funny and I also liked Damien's actor, however I wish his songs were included
I actually love this movie. Yes the Broadway show is better, but I still think it is great! I hate when people hate on it, it was definitely advertised wrong
Someone gets hurt is not Regina saying how she liked Aaron, it was plain manipulation to get him back so Cady couldn't have him

the script was just bad.. thats what most reviewers thought.. even renee thought it was eeek! the cast did the most they could do with it.. this is by no means a perfect film.. it was just the script and the directors were new as this is their first debut film.. but it was ok.. the songs were toned down than the orginal but i could live with it!

I'm one of the people that could not enjoy this movie. I would have loved to but it just didn't do it for me. Either way I could see right away the casting wasn't the problem the plastics, in particular, were so fucking well cast. Reneé has magnetism for days everytime she was on-screen she stole the fucking show, and that's regina for you.
Guys it's not that I hate it I just wish they choose some of the vocally better Regina was great and Damion and Janis it's just I didn't like the changed of some of the songs and the vocals I mean I don't exist to be perfect but instead of just going for pretty it should of been vocally like the color purple did but it was a great movie
This movie aint it. Even as a musical movie it isnt that good. Songs are toned down, the acting is mediocre at best and you can tell certain people couldn't sing
so happy you loved it bc i feel like it’s just me!! reneé is so incredible as regina, and her saying regina is a lesbian makes it 100x better to me

I saw the musical live with a friend, the same friend whom I went to see this movie with! I love the 2004 movie and musical, this remake it’s not my favorite but it had some great moments 🥰 Damian and Janis in this were ICONIC I love them
i didnt originally like this movie because im not usually a big fan of musics - but it definitely grew on me - but my bf really liked it, esp cuz hes more into musicals than me
the friends I'd take from this movie are Damian and Karen. Damian is just fun to be around and Karen is just kind of a genuine person wrapped in dumbness that is endearing.
I think people are too hard on this movie. Yes, it is not as good as the original, the songs are better in the musical, but I had fun watching it and more people would too if they stop making comparisons.
One thing I noticed that I thought was funny until I realized how bad it was, Regina's mom, when she brings in the snacks she picks up a cupcake and just starts sniffing it like it's cocaine. I didn't understand why she didn't just eat it until I remembered that sniffing food you want but "can't eat" was supposed to replace you actually eating it.
You should do reaction to the Broadway clips they had totally different energy than the 2024 film and imo so much better.
I wanted Chris Briney to sing in this so bad and it never happened

28:30 no, to be honest it's better that you didn't see it in theatres, too many people hated on this musical in theatres just because they didn't know it was a musical and they said how angourie who play cady can't sing as well as renae and they just kept comparing to the og when it is based on the broadway musical

Some people don't like the movie because it's a musical, but I'm glad actually.
The 2000`s movie is a classic, peak cinema in a lot of ways but more than that, it;s also a self-portrait of what people's cultures were at that time. You see, that highschool from the original movie may not be exactly what everyone had at the time, but it's a very close depiction of what teenagers were from 2000 to 2010's, and this new movie is way more current times. No one would come out in 2000`s and people would say "she's an ally" you know? It's outdated, yes, but I think it's a cultural movie that shows how much we changed with inclusion these last decades.
I also love that since the OG movie is not a musical (even if it is a movie that came from a Brodway musical), it's still good. So one movie doesn't replace the other, and frankly, people said this movie is High School Musical, but I WISH High School Musical had the same level of quality this movie had. I can see Mean Girls 2024 aging pretty well too. I can't see anyone watching High School Musical now and saying: Wow, best songs ever! It's so... silly.

I worked at a movie theater until 2022 and the manager of the movie theater still gives me free tickets.
I went to see this movie 3 TIMES and every time I was like “Cady is kinda dragging this down but EVERYTHING else is such perfection”
ALSO someone said Aaron is the blonde guy from Mr.Meaty’s hot little brother. And I can’t unsee it
I think the first half wasn't great, the person who played Cady shouldn't be Cady but the second half was great
This movie may not be a masterpiece but I still enjoyed it all the same :)
Also the girl who played Cady in this (Angourie Rice) played a small role in the Marvel Spider-Man movies so you might recognise her from that :)

I've watched the musical (a bunch of times, really), am about the age of the original Plastics, and still liked it a lot. There are a few weird bits here and there, but it was solid imo!

the first time i watched the movie my expectations were incredibly low but i ended up falling in love with it and its cast. quite honestly, i connect with this version of mean girls a lot more personally than i ever did with the original movie (not to say the original isn’t amazing)

As someone who hadn't seen the actual musical before seeking this I loved it and had so much fun seeing it. I get why some people disliked the changes to the songs having now listened to the broadway versions but I think they fit well within the movie. Also the casting was such a slay. Omg also the "hormones" joke and the little scooter bit that Damien did got me cackling.
