Unfortunately, nothing works on the vinyl siding and the vinyl frame around the door☹️
I could hang Halloween lights because they didn't need support in the middle. But heavy garlands with lights needs the support.
Those clips would work on the gutter going across our porch, but I just want it around the door.

Look up "sticky tie holder" attach them with gorilla tape but heat the siding and the tape with a blow dryer than apply pressure for atleast a minute per one. Should allow you to mount the garland and would hold very well, if not would have to use screws.

My screws won’t go into the wood cause it’s like a weird plastic marker so :(

if you use a bit longer screw it should go through the plastic and into the plywood in behind as long as its not brick :) if it is brick you would need a tapcon screw

I love YT! So many helpful ideas and DYI'ers adding ttheir tips.
I have the same or similar sidng and headers. Suggestion: Use a drill with a small bit to make a pilot hole smaller than the screw in a cup hook (don't hammer, it won't go in and/or may damage the surface). Screw in a cup hook. Attach the zip tie on the garland where you want it to hang. Hang Zip tie to cup hook. Voila! EZ Peezy. You can remove the cup hook after the holidays (just a teeny hole that my HOA can't see) or keep it there to hang other seasonal decor.
If you have siding, there are clips on Amazon that attach between the connecting pieces horizontally. They work great but placement can limit you, look at the link below. And, not sure how much weight they will hold. To disburse the weight I used 2 side by side to hand a 1" thick x 36" L wooden holiday sign on my porch. They held.

When a Command strip just won't work, cup hooks are perfect for so many projects. They are unobtrusive, come in colors, you can hang garland or other decor on them or use a ziptie to add length before hanging and, they are cheap! They come in colors and metals, with and without a lock. Check Amazon.
FYI: Cup hooks are measured from the shoulder to the bottom. Sizes: 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1" , 1-1/4", 1-1/2" or 1-3/4". They are made of steel with a plated finish.
