This video is now over 3 years old. Curious to know how this paint job held up.

Really great video. How has the grib on the handle been after you restored it and I guess by now done some workouts with it?

I hope you enjoyed the project. Looks good. But I think you did more work than was necessary. Especially with the masking tape number part of the process.

How does the paint feel on your hands? Is it slippery? Is the handle extra grippy but tears up your hands?A lot of mediocre kettlebells have lousy finishes that are greatly improved by sanding the finish off of the handle.

The paint feels good, they are not too sticky, but not as slippery as chromed handles are when you sweat. Overall pretty solid

If the paint contains lead, sanding it off is not good because it will be airborne.

Don't do this if you have plastic kettle bell..

Cost less if you buy a new one

Why not repair/maintain what you already have instead of wasting? Besides spray paint is cheap and black is useful for much more than old kettlebells.

In today’s times that was way cheaper than buying new ones. I got used 8, 12, 16, 20 & 24kg KBs for 35€, then redone them for about 60€ total. A similar set of new steel KB would’ve cost me about 250-400€($)
