I am from Baltimore also and I grew up and lived on the 600 block of Wilow Ave. I would like to see the Orioles win another world series soon and maybe this year. Since the Expos moved from Montreal to Washington, DC, and became
the Nationals, they have been trying to take over the entire network in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area. That area
belongs to the Orioles and should always belong to the orioles.

It's been a long, miserable road for us O's fans. But Mike Elias has really turned things around for this team. I can't say if we'll make the playoffs this year, but next season? We'll have Grayson the best pitching prospect in baseball A full season of Gunnar and Adley, DL Hall will be in the rotation, as well as guys like Jordan Westburg and Colton Cowser. If they can add another really good rotation piece, like Rodon or Syndergaard or maybe pull of a trade for Pablo Lopez, this team can be dangerous.

It is INSANE how much they have improved from last year to this year. The bullpen is top 3-4 in the league for ERA and the starting pitching has started to come together after having an abysmal team ERA of 5.84 in 2021. Also, the offense has really improved in terms of situational hitting and getting on base via walks. And on top of all that, they have only called up Adley and Gunnar; they still have 5 top 100 prospects which they have not called up yet. I am pumped for the future of the Orioles, to say the least!

On the note of Orioles starters putting things together, Kyle Bradish. A borderline top 100 prospect heading into the season who started of his career quite well, with an 11 K performance in St. Louis in one of his first starts.
Then things completely fell apart and he was pitching horribly, getting his ERA to 7.38 before getting injured. Once he came off the injured list he was pretty good showing notable improvement but still not amazing. Recently he made some mechanical changes to his delivery, started relying on his good off-speed pitches more over his fastball (which was getting crushed before) and a couple other changes he hasn't gone into depth on but as a result in his last 2 starts against the Astros and Guardians he threw 8 and then 7 scoreless innings allowing 0 runs and only 2 hits in each game (also if I remember correctly he also only allowed hard contact 2 times in each game as well). Reducing his ERA since his injury to 2.66.
This team is so absurdly likable and there are so many great stories going on at once, it's kinda insane, Voth changing his mechanics and adding an entirely new pitch, GUNNAR HENDERSON existing, all the players from Triple A meeting up again in the majors and how wholesome it is, Vavra AKA "he gets on base", and man there are so many...
Also huge O's fan, and this was an amazing video, definitely the best about the O's season that I've seen!

I loved this, great video and commentary. However, I'm very confused to why you think they're out of the playoff picture. They're 1.5 games behind right now and have 10 games against the Blue Jays, who are ahead of them by those 1.5 games. If they are able to continue their pace of 5-3 vs the Blue Jays, they could easily make a push and even be a handful of games up on them before the season ends. Not to mention another 10 games they have vs teams under .500. I think it's going to be difficult and they'll have to play great baseball to get it, but they're not out by any means.

Pls. I need a Rays video. Sorry for long post. A. Without Glasnow the season looked bad from the start. And when we traded Meadows it looked even worse. And with an absurd, almost record breaking injury streak with us. At some point in the year, the rays where without Glasnow, Anderson, Chargois, Franco, Lowe, Choi, Zunino, Kiermaier, Fairbanks, McClanahan, Springs, Chirinos, Margot, Ramirez, Wisler, Thompson, Baz, Kittredge, McKay, Patino, Fleming, Quinn and I’m probably missing more. What did the Rays do? They did rays things Turing Paredes into a star, Diaz raking. Getting production from guys other teams let go like Yu Chang and company. And now within a few games of the Yankees? The Rays organization is simply incredible, and it deserves some credit. 😀

Great video! Its always refreshing to see orioles content because its almost non existent on youtube. The hitting is statistically worse then last year but their timely hitting is much improved. The defense is what is most improved for the 2022 birds. It was hard to watch them boot easy plays over the last couple of years. I believe the improved pitching somewhat stems from Mt Walltimore. Giving the staff confidence that a lazy fly ball won't leave the yard. Also Baustitas nickname is "The Mountain" standing 6'8" and 280lbs. With all the talent in the pipeline the Birds are going to be a scary team for the next decade!

Just one small thing-saying "little did anyone know" about Bautista is incorrect, at least as far as Orioles fans are concerned. Around Baltimore, literally EVERYONE knew Bautista would take over the closer's role. It was why Lopez could be dealt in the first place, and no one who watched Bautista early in the year had any doubts he'd excel at it, which he's done. Now that Henderson and Stowers are up from AAA, the Os are ready to give it their best shot for the post season. A simple formula-good to great pitching, and outstanding defense keeps the score close. Get just enough offense with power, timely hits, stolen bases, aggressive bunting, and heads-up baserunning to win. At some point, the players started believing...that's pretty much it. One of the most entertaining and exciting teams to watch in all of baseball.
Oh, and then there's this-next year more of their studs from the minors will be arriving and the Orioles are going to be one of the dominating teams in the league, not just one of the contenders. It should be fun.

Im happy for the Orioles but the best story this year is has to be the Mariners for sure. I mean the 14 game streak, JRod(possible rookie of the year) going off in the derby, and are close to ending the longest playoff drought in any sport right now! I started watching their games lately and they are a super fun team to watch. Really good starting rotation(especially after getting Castillo), their bullpen is ranked 1st in almost every stat, and just saw they have the best record in the AL since June 20th or something. Pretty cool, I'm rooting for them

The AL East is going to be insane for at least the next 3 or 4 years, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next couple years all 5 go 90+ wins and sweep the Wild Card with whichever poor squad winds up in last missing out on the playoffs despite being better than every other division

A game and a half out of a wild card spot as of now, so I wouldn't write off this season yet. After the past several years -- and the rough start to this year -- just watching them play meaningful baseball in September is amazing. No matter what happens this postseason, the O's are going to be a threat for years to come. I'm biased because they're my two favorite teams, but how awesome would a Mets-Orioles World Series be?

Great synopsis here! Team defense, Ramon Urias and intangible impact of clubhouse chemistry from Chirinos and yes, Odor round it out. With a dozen or so blue chippers making their way to the roster or farm system of late, the window is beginning to open. I hate all of this, I am an every pitch watcher who was so productive over the past 4 years...now my fingernails are gone and I am glued to the TV and very moody on loss nights!

I don't expect them to get into the playoffs even though they are very good this year and still have an outside shot. That said, this season has been one with nothing to lose, and more than anything, I've just enjoyed watching this group of guys play, especially seeing great young talent like Adley Rutschman and now Gunnar Henderson come up (both having vastly exceeded my expectations).
I'm excited to see them compete in the next few years, but more than anything I'm happy that they have finally built the farm system back into what it should have been for decades now, which is where the bulk of the money SHOULD be spent. I want the Orioles to be the Rays, continually finding and bringing up new talent, developing them into great players, and trading them away when other teams decide to throw them big money.
As much as I love seeing players come up and stick around with my team, that's not how sports really work anymore. It's ultimately better for both the fans and the players themselves to move on once their value increases. The players get to get paid what they deserve and the fans get to watch more new, young talent come up through the system and turn into stars. I'd rather the Orioles be the team that can bring up good players as needed when pieces get traded away, than the team that throws lots of money at free agents who only stick around for a few years anyway.
I do trust the free agency decisions of Mike Elias and his front office far more than those of the past, but I think relying heavily on free agent acquisitions requires a relatively high payroll, and that hasn't worked out very well for the Orioles in the past, given that they're a smaller market team. But fortunately it's quite obvious that Elias' main focus is on the farm system, so I hope he and this mentality will be with the Orioles for a long time. World Series wins are great and all, but I am most interested in the team remaining competitive for as long as possible.
