Awesome video thank you! Just what I want...would you please recommend a reputable on-line retailer? Thanx again for your time and kind attention. Cheers!
Thanx for quick reply. Danscomp has the 2022's but the color..I don't like. Combined with bad reviews and I will stay away from danscomp unfortunately. Cheers!
I am between the Kink Drifter 2023 or a dirt jumper, mostly will be hitting the park for jumps and street cruising as well. Do you think the Kink ticks those boxes? Thanks.
Yeah I think it’s great for both. Dirt jumpers are kind of terrible for just riding and cruising. Their geo is VERY dedicated to jumps. They’re not fun to ride, IMO.
Loved your video!! Can you tell me the seat height minimum from the ground in CMs? I want my feet to be able to touch the ground and not sure if this awesome bike is to big for me, I'm 160cms tall.
Thanks for the support Katrina! Sadly, I don’t own this bike anymore, but tbh bc it’s a BMX (even though it’s got 26” wheels) I would think that with the seat absolutely slammed you should be able to touch down. You may have to cut the post a hair to get that seat right on top the frame. I can’t recall.
what is with the weak rear dropouts they put on bikes these days? I am used to getting at least an inch and a half to play with, so no chain stuffing around changing sprockets. you get half a centimetre of leftover. Also, I love my CroMoLy.
Help me please. The Kink Drifter looks like a great value but I also like the DK Legend. Could you compare the two as far as quality of components etc? My Son is buying me a bike and I want him to get the best value. Ty.
The drifter has a full chromoly frame and the legend does not, so for me that makes the decision very easy. I would only consider the drifter. Cheers! Enjoy!
really sweet complete but be safe it doesn't like big drops or impact around the downtube/fork steerer tube. I've bent two forks, the cranks, and sprocket in 6 months, still shreds with other parts tho!
I’ve already replaced the cranks and sprocket. I had no plans on keeping it stock. What happened to your fork?? Did you replace it with an s&m fork? Also, had any issues with wheel trueness? I wopped both of mine pretty good after trying a couple 180s lol.
@@JaredRMorgan The forks warped after a few big drops and big airs. I’m thinking of going S&M seems reliable. I’ve asked kink to make 26in forks but they don’t reply. The wheels do need to be trued often if spinning but they’ve held up well for being stock.
I gotcha. Yeah I ordered the 26” pitchfork last night. Had many of them in 20” and they were very tough. As for the wheels I noticed the same, but I’ll probably build a new rear wheel soon. The front doesn’t take as much abuse.
@@JaredRMorgan Thanks. I am looking for a Big BMX to mostly to cruise on and maybe some jumps with the kids. So I am looking for a flatter seat. Redline’s seat looks pretty flat, same thing with Sunday. Thanks.
I guess what I’m asking is if there will be a negative effect on “hoppability” for street and small jumps. I have a Taj and I just ordered some 9” Fu-bars but I plan to slam the lower rise Shadow VCC stem I purchased for it. I’m 5’10” and still want to be able to ride pump tracks etc… guess I won’t know till they get here.
Awesome bike. Any idea of hub dimensions? I have an old sunn bmix which I have built but it needs new wheels. Axles need to be 110mm at the back and 100mm at the front and thread size is 10mm. Seems impossible to buy 26inch wheels with bmx hubs.
You’re correct bc I had to build custom wheels when I was ready to upgrade this bike. I did shadow conspiracy hubs front and rear but laced to a 26” cliffhanger rim. It was a bad to the bone setup. But to your point, it’s standard bmx hub spacing on this bike.
I really like how this bike looks I’m thinking of buying that exact one just trying to figure tho is a 29 from another brand or this 26 the one to go with for doing tricks like they do up in nyc any suggestion?
It really just depends on what you feel more comfortable on. I recommend you hop on someone’s bike to get a feel for it. I like the 26 bc it reminds me of my old 20 street BMX bikes of the past. The 29s are great too but at that size wheel for me they just feel completely different.
@@JaredRMorgan that makes sense thank you I appreciate that. I’ll see how it feels at the bike shop 😎🤙 I get what you mean I like the old 20s too and if the 26 feels closer to that then it might be what I go for
@@Eddy_zilla i went looking at the 26, the shop let me ride a few out the back. But the 29 felt amazing. Especially if your tall. My wife used to say I look like a giant on a kids bike. Try both out.
No unfortunately. I rode it very little before selling it to fund new projects. As a cruiser, it’s legit. If you plan on really ripping and doing spin tricks and stuff you may want to consider better wheels in the future as I knocked the stock 26” wheels out of true pretty easy.
@@JaredRMorgan Thanks for responding. I am 45 and used to ride a diamondback back in the late 80s early 90s. I want to bike again but want a bmx for nostalgia. I am a coporate guy 6 figure :)... I had ended up putting fiend cranks on mine.

You could buy an all in one BMX tool like the one by odyssey or shadow conspiracy if you’re not equipped with a lot of tools.

Kinda sorta. You can, but only to a point.

Would 9” bars work on a 27.5” BMX bike?
