Owl Father already has so many mixups, now he has one that has more than 2 outcomes, and his only truly telegraphed combo (fire owl into shadow dash) now has a mixup as well. They just made my favorite fight even better.
FromSoftware nailed it with this game. That’s why it won GOTY 2019. Yeah I only realised after finishing the first two gauntlets and died while farming Sens and Divine Confetti. After that I decided to start my next new game plus to remove resurrection. I started deathless I'm finishing deathless. Only got fourth one to complete
When you first play the game, having firecrackers always equipped helps a lot with every boss. Now that I have 10+ playthroughs under my belt, I've found that the umbrella is the best overall choice. Protects better against hard hitting attacks and spam attacks, gives a good punish with the follow up attack, and as an added bonus it doesn't stop the enemies chain of attack, so you can get right back into the flow of combat. For new players, having that ability to force the boss to let up for a second is a god send, but the umbrella is overall more versatile, effective, and punishing to the bosses.
Omg i cannot play this game anymore without the umbrella, and the fact that you can use it to block grabs is amazing, since half the time when you dodge a grab the game just says 'nope'
@@allandm There are actually consistent dodge windows on grabs. Its just the character models make them kind of unclear. once you learn them though, you can dodge every time.
@Jesse P well I would actually use the umbrella for it's deflect. It has a much safer deflect timing, making it safer to deflect attacks such as Owl's underhand swing, which can wreck your posture if you're positioned too closely to him, but with the umbrella it doesn't affect your posture on a perfect deflect, no matter how you're positioned.

man, my first time fighting Inner Father was charmless and it was ridiculous. Unless you parry everything perfectly he will kill you in a few hits through your block.
Dude, I need to give you some love. First off.. I found you because of Sekiro and I absolutely love your videos.. Those first 2 playthroughs of yours were fucking Legendary and you made me laugh so much man. The same goes for Dark Souls 1,2,3, Demon's Souls and Bloodborne. This actually was easy for me. I had to practice against Genichiro and especially Isshin a number of times before I felt comfortable taking them on in the Gauntlets, but I killed Inner Father my first time facing him. Owl (Father) is my favorite boss from the main game which probably helped because I've replayed that fight so many times in my mind. He took a couple of my gourds before I realized that I had to be methodical and not spam my attacks in case he countered with mist raven, in which case I could quickly switch to defense and not let damage through. The rest is just quicker and less consistent than his original form, but still manageable if you know what to expect. I 200% agree with your list. Headless ape is 2nd favorite fight
id be way more fine with dying to inner owl a thousand times if demon of snoring wasnt in the way every time u restart
nvm demon of hatred wasnt nearly as bad as i remembered it, beat the gauntlet in a few hours. pretty sure severance was the gauntlet that took longest for me to run
Folding screen Monkeys destroy me every time.
The only attack that messing me up is that owl perilous attack he does, I never know weather to jump or dodge
I feel the same about demon of hatred as you do about divine dragon. Just the sheer spectacle of it is why i love it. Neither of them are great fights in the realm of sekiro combat but theyre both incredible in other regards
I'd like to c u do the mortal journey gauntlet because it would be nice to see u finish the game fully because personally I found ur channel through this game p.s these vids are also pretty funny
Boss tier list:
Isshin > everyone else >> double apes
So blazing bull is better than the double apes?
@@nameynamd9212 yes, easily. I hate double apes so much. It's complete bs and really lazy design. The only redeeming factors are that phase 1 is fine, and that it's really funny. Blazing Bull is very easily parried once you learn the timing and then it's just parry -> run away -> parry -> firecracker -> hit -> run away -> repeat.
Double apes are way too fast and way too independent from each other, especially considering how small the arena is.
@@JTB312 another thing that sucks about the ape gank is that it also makes no sense, since the reason this whole fight exists is that you don't have the mortal blade, yet you can actually get the mortal blade before the first fight. This is so stupid ,i hate it.
you should use the flame prosthetic after the lapis lazuli upgrade instead of divine confetti , it has the same effect but youre attacking withthe flame prosthetic instead of throwing paper in the air lol
10:26 bum bum bum bum bum lol
Mythymoo is underrated
Inner Father is by far the best boss in this game
I would put you on the SS tier list of youtubers Myth.
Not gonna lie, you sound like the english voice actor for dude on Scissors Seven, which makes this even more enjoyable
his tier list is good but i would swap the demon of hatred and the guardian ape around
