The Queen Look at when I made that comment. - In 2014. He did. He appeared during Season 3 which was last year. Slade did not appear this year during Season 4.
+Abominatrix650 He is in Shannara Chronicles which comes on MTV. I just started watching the first episode last night and his name appeared on screen. Talk about STOKED!
I loved it when Oliver, like an inexperienced person, true, true, talked about guns not bamboo sticks, not realizing that guns are MID TO FAR RANGE and even in the Army, we do combatives and in my first deployment to Iraq we all carried knives because if they got in close somehow, your gun became a liability. Contrary to popular believe, it's NOT as simple as drawing a 1911 six-shooter from a quick-draw holster while the other guy stands still in an open dirt road like a showdown in the wild, wild west. And Deathstroke was freakin' PERFECT as he looked intently at Oliver as he handed him a handgun and said in an AWESOME one of voice, "Jam this in my face." Utterly awesome.
Also to add on to anyone who's seen the Season 5 finale, Slade says "There's no giving up to these guys" to let Oliver know about the plan. Then Oliver uses the same move.
Watching this scene and then watching Slade and Oliver's scene in the season 5 finale where Slade says "Put a gun to his head" and then Oliver does this exact move to Evelyn. It's just beautiful, after 10 years how they're still partners and how they remember these things.
This was one of the best scene of the flashbacks ever. Manu Bennet as Slade/Deathstroke is the picture perfect of embodiment of a character and his on screen chemistry with Stephen Amell is off the charts. I just loved the show as soon I started watching but this scene made me literally fall in love.
Pay attention to Season 5 Episode 23. Oliver uses this EXACT move to disarm the gun from a certain... villain. It's a great way to pay tribute to Deathstroke.
Oliver: What is the point of this? Soldiers use guns not bamboo sticks. What am I supposed to do when a soldier jams a gun in my face? Huh? Threaten him with my stick?
UKH711Love1466 the British in rorkes drift had guns you know who defeated them Zulu warriors armed with sticks remember this kid a trained soldier armed with a rock is twice as deadly as an untrained soldier armed with the latest weapon

dion jay woollaston the thing is that it is about training now. Advancement in weaponry is more focused to avoid human casualties on our side but training assures that they can fight with or without weapons.
It's cool because that move that Slade just taught him is the one that Oliver used to take out Evelyn in the season 5 finale when she had a gun pointed at him.
I miss this Arrow when it first came out and also the fight choreography. They shouldve stayed dark, and idk what happened to the choreography but it suddenly changed after S1.
did you know that wolverine is supposed to be a short stocky dude? nah, you probably just watched the movies and ignored the comics. Its OK I forgive you. lmao
DAMN!!!! Stephen Amell actually represented a lot of qualities the goatee OG Ollie had in the comics. The whitty dialogue, the arrogance, and the need to always express himself. I wish the writers could just represent that aspect of ga for the whole show so we could have an accurate GA who quips while taking down the bad guys.
He was nothing like the comic version of GA. He never had a goatee and never trained with Slade or Ras. After season 2 they turned him into C grade Batman.
I would train with Merlyn to enhance my archery skills and learn how to handle a sword. But for other martial arts techniques Bruce Wayne's on the top list.
I kinda wish Slade stayed an ally to Oliver, rather than become a monster from the Mirakuru. It'd be kinda interesting to see the interactions between Slade & Ollie when fighting crime.
This was the first clip i saw of Arrow before I my Older brother reccomended the first season to me on Netflix. Having first seen Manu Bennett's portrayal of Crixus in the show Spartacus,it was such a treat to witness him as Deathstroke.
Sdgtdp I imagine it would have been harder training Robert since he was older. training some 50 something year old with no martial training may take more time compared to a 20 something. Now if he had former martial arts experience then it would be easier to train him.
This is the one episode I kept wanting to see Slade and Oliver’s progress. I literally skipped the parts when Felicity and Dig was shown in this episode
TheSilverstang66 It is called "Sinawali Drill" from Kali Eskrima.....the motion of the stick translates to empty hand... the motion of the stick translates also to your body movement that is why they drill with the sticks first....
Topherodesk I did some Kali (single stick only) and I heard about something called "Sayoc Kali". Friend said it was Kali adapted for swords. I'm familiar with the knife-style of Kali taught at my school but I never heard of "Sayoc Kali". My uncle said that the knife-style of Kali he taught WAS Sayoc Kali, just he preferred the knife and that Sayoc Kali was applicable to both knives and swords with little differences. He even went so far as to state that the single-stick I learned in Kali was not too different from the sword-style of Kali, only I take into account the blade of a sword. How much...if any....is true about that?
***** Sayoc has its roots from Pekiti Tirsia Kali style..... The stick style has little difference with sword.... The difference probably is , you don't hold the stick of your opponent if you try to trap him since you are treating the stick as sword....
Topherodesk I think I'll try to learn the actual Sayoc Kali if I wanna get a sword before I try anything, lol. But thanks for the information. I am a fan of Kali, despite being a novice.

Adding Slade was the best move for this show. Manu Bennett hit it out of the park with his portrayal.
Unfortunately he didn't get his r rated deathstroke series he wanted
And 5 years later, we see Slade telling Evelyn to jam a gun in Oliver's face, and we see the same move. How things have come back full circle ;)

Lol go read a comic kid.
Slade is an anti hero. He's good when he wants to be or the cash is right.
After binge watching Spartacus for the past week, it's so weird hearing Manu talk like someone from this century
assassintwinat8 yeah spartacus was my first time watching him. Pretty cool and hot for...other reasons.
Man, the season 5 finale paid an incredible homage to this scene
Thumbs up if you think Manu Bennett would play the perfect Boba Fett.
