But it has the engine of golf 8 R (ea888 gen 4 DNFC ) with continental turbo and the gearbox dq 381 v2 Which makes it the best size with easy 400hp with just a remap. The only downside is that the rear camera is not high definition as the pre facelift and the dashboard screen is slow.
Meh I wouldn't complain about it requiring 98 ron, anyone who gives two hoots about their vehicle and is keeping it outside of warranty is likely doing this already. I personally wouldn't run any modern Euro on anything less tbh...
Many of us here at Chasing Cars also run Euros as our personal cars and would be inclined to agree. It's certainly not a deal breaker but its worth keeping in mind for your running costs.
Great review Tom, as always. I was waiting for the updated version - the non haptic - but it didn't come quickly enough so i bought the Audi A3 Quattro Premium Sports. Can't say I have buyer's remorse. Love the Audi. But nonetheless the T-Roc R looks great.
I had two tuned Golf Rs and loved them. Then I hit 70 and getting in and out of a Golf became a chore. I bought a T-Roc R and it's much easier. Currently waiting to have it tuned.
@@peterkensey6728are you worried about voiding warranty? Looking to get a Tiguan (either R line or R), want to get it tuned but afraid of voiding warranty in case something goes wrong

Meh, I wouldn't by anything that won't run on E10... Why not just make it run on E10, 91 or premium?
How does it compare to the Cupra Formentor VZX?
I don’t agree that the Golf R has a slightly better 4WD system.
❤😊😲 WoW

I can t find your full review on the Touareg R ?
We've got a review of the Touareg R on our website at chasingcars.com.au
Cupra Ateca with the physical steering wheels if I was after a similar VAG product.
Vs the Cupra Formentor it doesn't stack up though, and it definitely feels like it's an old model inside.
Petrol particulate filter sounds fantastic like something else to eff up
I thought Tom finished up working at Chasing Cars?
Certainly not! Tom continues to work with the Chasing Cars team, so expect to see much more from him in the future.
@@chasingcarsthat's weird I heard a similar thing.... 🤔 what is going on at chasing cars I was about to unsubscribe....
Thank god this review is not about a PRC branded vehicle. Nice VW
Does Tiguan have a more masculine edge? I’ve only seen Insta-girls driving these.
@@Lukeheski I don't think it's girly at all. Any bloke who doesn't act on the innate urge to drive a pick-up truck or jacket up ute earns my respect.
Why not a Golf over one of these?😊
Costs significantly more

Great car VWs when new and under warranty but then………….
Then put it up for sale and purchase a new one and you'll never have a prob
Are people really paying 70k for a hatchback that has less practicality than a honda fit?
To be fair, the Honda Fit/Jazz set an unusually high bar for practicality in its segment.
Are people really buying this to compare it to a Honda jazz?
