    I know some people are going to be like ‘oh I can’t believe she wants us to donate to her videos ‘ but like honey we all need to earn some cash 💰 and it’s a great way for us to show are appreciation 💗

    Wow! Such helpful and realistic advice. So many riders in masterclasses talk about what they’re doing but forget to say how they got there. I love that you always keep the basics in mind. Not only is is amazing for us to hear but Wilf and Eagle are going to be fantastic GP horses one day!!! Thank you for these lessons. You got this!!! Xx

    This was so helpful in the way of seeing a horse who is not engaged behind in the beginning and the same horse who is in the end. This horse moves similarly enough to my horse, who is also weak behind, that it was so helpful to see what i should be looking for ultimately and how to help her get there. Thank you for creating this!

    Love the video!! Perhaps you could do one in more depth about stopping a horse/slowing down with your body more, instead of your hands, and getting the horse to sit more on their back legs? Love these videos though, keep up the good work!! xx

    I have watched this video every day before I ride and it is starting to make a real difference in my ride quality. I have always warmed up looking for my boy to go long and stretchy. It isn't easy to start something so new to him but I can see it pays off for you with Beeeev!!!

    Very helpful Olivia! And I particularly like the visual of drawing the withers to the stomach and having it act as a magnet, thank you so much for sharing that tip! I've only just found your vlog and so happy I have. :-) I've only watched a few but I'll be sure to watch them all. You had me laughing out loud when Abby was jumping Dexter and you were having such a laugh, those are the fun times I remember as a young girl

    Really loving these videos! They are soooo helpful! I love the image of pulling his withers into your stomach. My horse seems very much the same, really flexible and floppy but not strong enough to hold herself off the forehand.
    You have to come out to Australia one day and do some clinics!

    The very best video for me, one of my horses is so like the the horse in the video. Have a lot of the same problems that you have. I am going to try the shorter front steps and more push from the hind legs exercise in walk. Thank you :D

    Thankyou for this. I ride a big 17.3 ID and I’m aiming for advanced medium by next year but constantly get on the forehand comments no matter what I do to lift and engage him. More videos for “less gifted” dressage horses would be ace!

    My horse dose exactly what eagle does on the left rein but once I'm on the right rein he becomes a giraffe, I don't know weather this is a result of past issues with his shoulder, him being silly or my riding but I can't figure it out. I have talked to the equine chiropractor and his shoulder is all good but I'm still a little sceptical. I was wondering if you have face a similar problem or know of any exercises me and my horse can do to help😄

      I would look at the whole body not just the shoulder. Also teeth, saddle fit, rider balance etc

  • @dressagetyme
    @dressagetyme 6 лет назад +1

    Olivia, structure has a great deal to do with your problem, he also has a weak loin, right behind the saddle area where he needs to strengthen to the hip joints. You can help these muscles with doing leg circles with your horse as an ground exercise. Lift the hind foot about six inches as if you were cleaning his feet, now rotate the entire leg slowly in each direction eight times. Do this before you ride to initiate the smaller muscles surrounding his stifle, hip, and loin area. Over time he will get stronger so he can push better off those hind legs. Look up hind end stretches on RUclips, there are many to look at here.

    Lol if this is the standard for a horse that is front heavy or on the forehand… the rest of us are doomed!! 💀 what a gorgeous beauty and excellent riding!
    I suppose for a dressage purpose bred, and if he’s age 6+ there could be a statement about him being behind the leg, but to me he seems to be tracking up, built uphill with natural slightly higher head carriage. Maybe getting hollow through the back occasionally, but not riding around on his face. I can see he is a bit heavy resting on the hands but phew what a pretty step and movement.
