So I work at Bass Pro shops and the Carbonlite 2.0 reel is made by Lew’s. In fact, most of our branded reels are made by Lew’s. For example, our Bass Pro Shops Tightline combo (inshore spinning combo) is made in the same factory as the Penn Battle III so it just depends on which one you get. Very nice though! I have this combo as well and love it. That 10 year rod warranty is so nice to have.
I work for bass pro shops as well and Lew's does not make them.A company called Doyo makes them as they also make Lew's,Pflueger, and Johnny Morris. These are made in Korea.Diawa makes the spinning reels and they are made in Japan.I can also tell you that the Penn Battle 3 and the Bass Pro Shops Tight line are not made in the same factory.Tightline is pure junk.
I have the Johnny morris spinning rod & it is very sensitive, which I enjoy. when throwing a ned rig or shaky head it works wonders. And I have the Johnny morris baitcaster (7:2:1 on a St croix victory rod) two years & going strong!! I’m thinking about scooping another Johnny Morris baitcaster
If you notice the bass pro shield on the side plate is the same oval and in the same spot as the lews oval shield on their side plates. Good reels. Can't really go wrong with a doyo product. The carbonlite spinning reels are made by Daiwa also. Can't go wrong with these combos.
I was kind of leaning that towards Lews, it’s a supper smooth setup. I have a BFS Lews Lvd and it’s amazing but I like this one right there with it. I heard that Lews and Abu are made in the same factory. But if you like firearms Taurus are made in the old Beretta Factory..
I have this reel rod combo and I am doing every thing right with the bait and line and casting but it feels like the rod is limited to 20 ft of casting
If you went with the Medium Heavy I try to throw 3/8 or bigger. For the medium I stay under 3/4 oz. Also makes sure it’s lubed up I’ve bought lots of combos not lubed when you buy them. I throw a lot of swimbaits on my MH. Lots of cranks and Topwater on the Medium.
I had the same issue with mine. I stripped it down, re-greased/lubed the gears/bearings and now it’s a lot better. I was just casting an 1/8oz spinner bait in wind no problem. They get better as they wear in, I think.
My guess is bad people skills. I just took a reel back today. It was 3 yrs old. No receipt, no 3 year warranty proof. Only question they asked me was. Would you like the same gear ratio. I have close to 30 bass pro combos. From the platinum series down. Great equipment.

I knew it. I've always had a hunch they were based on the design.
Baitcasters by lews, freshwater spinning daiwa.
Manufacturer, Doyo and their factories are in South Korea and China. Lew's and others are made there too.
Chinese junk
So they’re made by doyo bc that’s who makes Lew’s

DOYO makes reels for many companies such as Bass Pro, Lews, Abu Garcia, and Pflueger to name a few.
HEY! thats my combo too! i really love it
Great breakdown of an awesome combo!

Agreed. I really Need to get another spinning combo.
Cheers
Just picked one up today at a Bass pro near me

Lew's don't make anything. China and South Korea is who makes Lew's.
Taurus are not made in the old Beretta factory!!
Anybody know anything about the gold series? Is it a good reel?
Baitcasters are made by Lews, spinning reels by Daiwa.
Just bought this one with a 8 3 1 gear ratio and I’m gonna get cork Handel knobs and a put her on a cork rod
Thank you. I live the reel and think the rod is a like a heavy broomstick. Just my opinion.
How much line do you put on it? And how do you know what to set the brake and line tension too?
Hey sorry this is a late reply bps big casters are made from Lews and the spinning is also made from Dawa
No, and no.
Baitcasters made by Doyo, the boxes they’re shipped in literally say so.
And Daiwa makes the spinning reels.
I have this reel rod combo and I am doing every thing right with the bait and line and casting but it feels like the rod is limited to 20 ft of casting
Did you loosen your tension knob?
@@dacuna1010 yes the bait falls freely to the ground with no birds nest

You have something not quite right brother. That combo will send a 1/2oz swimbait 50 + yards with no effort.

I heard they're made by Lew's from Bass Pro Shop Manager
Lees makes them I had the same question and asked bass pro
what is it made to fish with
Your hands.
The 2.0 i think is Daiwa, but i could be mistaken.
Spinning reel is Diawa. Baitcaster is Lews
Really thanks !!!
Bass Pro Shops reels are made by Lew's
I work at bass pro and bass pro shops reels are made by Johnny Morris
Ha, ha…
@@jordanwolff1744 hand made 😂
I did backlash every single time first day 😅
My Bass Pro guy says Lew's makes this rod & reel combo.
Lews makes the baitcaster and Diawa makes the spinning reel.
Made by Doyo. Same as Lews and Abu.
That’s awesome thanks.
Lew's makes the johnny Morris signature reels and have done so for about 7 or 8 years. Not 100% on rods but would bet it's Lew's as well
Awesome review!!!
Manufacturer,l is Doyo and their factories are in South Korea and China. Lew's and others are made there too.
Also, add hook keeper where you want it with the rubber band looking universal ones sold at çabelas
Wdym?
It’s a Lews…. But not much different than Abu.. they’re all built by Doyo in Korea….it’s basically a Lews tournament lite without hook keeper..
Like my friend direct to Rio de janeiro - Brasil
What’s wrong your hair?
My youngest son made honorroll for the year so I dyed my hair blue. He Did it again this year it’s blonde currently. He picks the color.
Cheers
It’s a lews
Daiwa is the one who makes it
Only spinning reels.
Guy at bass pro told me that. Might have it mixed up tho.
I am a "guy at BPS" ;)
@@phishingwithphilthy haha fair enough
Broke my reel after 1 year and broke the rod after 3 years. Bass Pro told me too bad. Broke the rod casting a top water. Piece of junk.
that’s your fault for not purchasing the extended warranty
@@levigreen5509 they said the warranty was only good for 3 years. It had been 4
