      Seascape is the best strawberry that i know of. Cinder blocks will work fine as long as you keep the soil wet. You can mulch to top, that will help.

    Surely it's better to grow a combination for most people. I thought june baring strawberries are much larger once they get going? I have already established a June baring patch on my allotment. I wanted to do an everbearing patch next but this video taught me that day neutral is a better option👍

    I have a place in Valier MT (zone 4). I'm selecting strawberry plants that are hardy to zone 3 in the hope that the extra hardiness will help them do better over the winter. I've selected "Fort Laramie" ever-bearing and "Honeoye" June bearing. This is going to be fun. I want to get them started this year so they will bear next year.

    Lynn, in looking at the Johnny Seeds write up for the Seascape, it states, "Day-neutral beds will last for one to two growing seasons once established. Do not renovate day-neutral varieties." What exactly does that mean? Are the plants only productive for one to two seasons and have to be replaced? And what do they mean "do not renovate"? Thanks for your time.

    • @TheLivingFarmPaonia
      @TheLivingFarmPaonia  2 года назад +4

      HI, They are referring to when to dig them up and split the plants. We typically divide out plants every other year. You can find all that information and much more in our HP strawberry course. at thelivingfarm.org/high-performance-strawberry-course/

I live in New Jersey zone 6b maybe zone 7, 15 minutes outside of Manhattan N.Y. I had planned on growing an everbearing variety called Albion.
