- Since my iPhone has been going off like crazy with a tsunami warning every few minutes, I decided to document it. For anyone who is wondering, I'm from Tokyo, and we're safe!
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for the Amami Islands and the Tokara Islands in the southwestern prefecture of Kagoshima on Sunday. This came after the massive eruption on Saturday of a volcano in Tonga.
A 3-meter high tsunami is expected to reach Japan following the undersea volcanic eruption.
A tsunami was observed in the Kominato area of Amami Ohshima Island at 11:55 pm Japan time. It was 1 meter 20 centimeters high.

Absolutely, every time I hear this sound, I experience a sudden jolt and get goosebumps all over my body.
