Don't forget the player cams have a few seconds of lag on them. Hera wasn't smirking until after the demo's went off, even if it looks like he was just trolling and letting himself get demo'd. He's just a good sport about it.
The series was irrelevant since both players had not only qualified but knew they would get top1-2 (Hera) and top3-4 (Viper), so obviously they did not want to show their prepared strats. Regardless they put on a great show and it was great to see them play for laughs and just have fun. Game 4 especially was wonderful!

What an incredible series, Viper the only one (with Tatoh) able to beat the best player in AOE2. Game 4 was astonishing but i can't explain why Hera with Byzantines didn't make camels and instead did cataphracts, however this game 4 and game 4 against Tatoh in Arena won by Hera became history of age of empires 2 tourneament. Can't wait to see more games ! Whan an exciting tourneament !
@@orhanburhan2161 Hera was the best player of 2023, so goes into 2024 as the best aoe2 player. You were mistaken in thinking it was the Viper. Now read it again with this new information and it will make sense. Hope this helps.
I think he's earned his retirement after all he's done for us. The best we can do is let him know his work is appreciated and that his legacy will live on, and then accept and respect his decision.
