I own an rd300nx, but used a Roland rd 300s for 25+ years. I have a Jerry Lee Lewis style, with a lot of quick thumb sliding up & down the keyboard. The 300s was wonderful, with a very light touch suited perfectly to this style. The 300nx is not....sliding is much heavier and clunkier, so I avoid it on stage. The response is much heavier, especially in upper registers. I know it can be adjusted. I'm not concerned about sound as much as touch. The 300s was MUCH more sensitive & responsive. What should I do? Obviously, the old 300s weighs almost 80 lbs & is limited, but has an action more suited to me. I still own it! Thanks for your help....
Hello, I own Roland RD 2000, I purchased the German Piano upgrade. When I install from the update port as mentioned in the videos, I get the message "Cheak the update port". What is the problem? I have version 2.0 installed on my device.
Great video I will definitely be trying this. I'm having a nightmare recording with my rd2000 I have great levels not too hot but once the piano has been recorded when played back at volume it has a horrible end tone almost like distortion or a bad sample distorting any ideas as I've tried everything but it's always there . I'm using a imported gx piano or the included v piano md 1 patch and it's always there , if I take treble off it slightly helps and I'm using mono Jack single output . Alan
Here's my EQ for piano ''Concert Grand'' What do you think of this ? ***** INPUT / LOW / MID1 / MID2 / MID3 / HIGH Gain: -1 3.2 2 4 3.4 7 Freq: ------ 400 2500 5000 8000 16000 Q : -------- ----- 1 1 1 I have no idea what i really do when i play with these numbers. This sound great for me with all the other setting i have but i'm still playing with what i get not with what i want... Found some good info about the EQ, i whish i could have a least 1 frame showing all the numbers clearly lolll but no big deal. Thanks a lot.
How do I do this? I have never experimented with the sound. Where does it take us through this process? I know this pretty basic I want to improve the piano sound with heavy to med touch and beautiful tone that inspires me.
Antony, great video! Today, however, I experienced a sad happening on my brand new RD2000. This is exactly what I did: 1. I played an hour using one of the 70s organ sounds, repetitive music in the middle register. 2. then I switched to the default Stage Piano, played for a few min, then to Bold Beauty 3. I then changed the Key Touch to light, and started playing another piece for 10 min, the final note was a low G, G1. When I hit G1, there was NO SOUND! I quickly realized all the keys below G1 went silent. I toggled to other piano sounds, SILENT. Had to restart the piano to get back to normal, any idea?
not without actually seeing the problem which you have resolved. best guess is you accidentally adjusted the key range for zone 1. Its not difficult to do that actually - though wouldn't happen unless you went into program edit.
Bonjour Est ce que vous pouvez m expliquer comment changer la dureté des touches sur rd 2000 svp ? J'ai trouvé le key touch et le reglage mais je ne sais enregistrer ma sélection 😢😢 Merci d'avance Christophe
Hello Anthony Very helpful video, thanks I would be interested to see a list of your changes for the different piano tones you like personally I could then trial them - little hard to follow exact details in the video All the best
Antony, need held. The keytouch button on my Roland is not turning on, it is only allowing me to pick velocity curve etc.. How do i get it to just turn on and have natural touch? It was working before but now i can only set a fixed velocity. Thanks
Very nice. Thank you!
Anthony, Thank You so much for this great tutorial!
Nice. Makes a lot of sense. Good video.

@@alanguedes7658 Write it as a program using the before last button to the right.

Can you tell me how to save the settings like key touch for the start of the roland rd 2000?
sorry for the timeframe - youve probably got his sorted by how. If not - its in menu/system - then scroll down to keytouch and set it to remain.
I had that problem. After you've changed settings you need to press WRITE. It saves like when you save changes to a program etc.
It seems to can therefore have different levels of key touch for every sound!!!!
