Primrose Hill has 'turned from A-list paradise into a Neanderthal playground'

  • IT is the leafy north London enclave that became synonymous with wealth and excess thanks to the antics of Kate Moss, Jude Law and Liam Gallagher.
But today fed-up residents say you are more likely to bump into a thug wearing a hoodie than you are to an A-list celebrity in Primrose Hill, which has become a "Neanderthal campground".
Following the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old schoolboy Harry Pitman on New Year's Eve, locals have told The Sun that they have been warning of a surge in violence and anti-social behaviour for three years.
Eleanor Sturdy chairs the Primrose Hill crime panel and says the area’s historic park can resemble a music festival some days as yobs take drugs and have sex in full view of members of the public.

And yet it goes further. The Elections Act 2022 brought in changes to voter identification which have not yet been integrated into the legislative database. If you don't have the right form of voter ID you may not be able to vote in the London Mayoral and Assembly Elections, as well as for the Police and Crime Commissioner, all due on 2 May 2024. Full details are available on the Electoral Commission's website, and include contentious scope for arbitrary disenfranchisement on the grounds the photo ID doesn't look like the voter.

There's quite a bit of dancing about who these "yobs" are.... So far as I could tell from the interviewees they play loud music, do graffiti, pee and poop where they like, and there are rival groups of them as well.
The interviewees were all white, middle class, and middle age and didn't really give any details were "too descriptive".
Therefore would it be fair to assume that the problem yobs aren't white, middle class, and middle age?

This is a symptom of the continued lack of policing for nigh on a decade and a half now. I lived on the Isle of Dogs for 17 years before I finally had enough and moved away. It was never as affluent as the likes of Primrose Hill but the deterioration of social order was striking in the last 4-5 years. We need to get away from this mindset of shifting the blame for petty/violent crime onto society, the system of law and order in this country needs to once again work for the law abiding.

Property now is so expensive, especially in areas like this, that you cannot justify paying for the ‘square footage’ of your property, you’re actually just paying a huge premium for the location. I'm no fan of Khan, but the Mayor of London does not have anywhere near the kind of power on crime that people think. He sets the budget for the Met, but it's operation is out of his hands.

Taylor Swift just bought a house there that she’s developing 😂 Guess she also would like to live in ‘Brixton’ and ‘Hackney’ like in her song 😂

I lived here 20 years ago from 97 to 2002, (Chalcot crescent) back then it was a really nice place to live. Live in Chelsea (South Kensington) now, much safer than Camden.

No police presence anywhere as it’s too expensive.Rather pay £8 million a day to house economic migrants.

London is gone. You reap what you allow. Remove discipline in society and it goes feral. Such horrible times, to witness the decline, and it's going to get worse, unless something drastic happens. The U.K is simmering

Sadiq KHAN reducing the numbers or Metropolitan Police is one basic problem for the city of London, it's the broken windows theory over and over.

Many of these residents voted for Khan as Mayor. This is the consequences of it. So bad.
