Here's the story in a nutshell.. The reason why England didn't bowl full in 1st innings was they expected things to pan out like they did in headingley in 3rd test vs India.. just keep bowling good n short of good length, squeeze the run scoring and zone in around 5th stump line and wait for Aussies to eventually make mistakes after running out of paitence.. but the fact that Aus left the ball so well and pitch had a lot of bounce so everything from even good length was flying over stumps n ofcourse Eng didn't take the chance that came their way.. that's why huge 1st innings deficit n an inevitable loss!
About time we realised that we can’t rely on one test side to play in different conditions. A touring side of Australia, at least in the main (7-8) need to prepared to play out there specifically. Jimmy and Broad are swing bowlers well suited to home tests. We need pace and Bounce in oz. I thought they would have learned this by now
The only options england have are wood and Mahmood for pace one of which has no experience and the other has been struggling with injuries for a while and doesn’t move the ball. Realistically England have never really been able to breed genuine fast bowlers with the exception of Anderson. All of the other rapid bowlers didn’t last long for England guys like jones, flintoff, harmison and tremlett all had short careers due to injury, whereas teams like Australia and India have figured out how to produce fast bowlers who all seem ready for test cricket where India have about a dozen different good seam options with variety to play tests.

Get rid start again
Joe, don't say "we", say "they".
Perhaps select the England Women's Team for the next test. They might do better.
4,000 days since winning a test in Australia. England used to be mother cricket but are now your doddering aunt.
If Root knows about the poor bowling, why doesn’t he mention it then and there? Says after the game is over. I don’t think he is a great captain.
Root is a hopeless captain, but our best batsman so he should bat at 3. Hameed, Pope, Buttler (as keeper) Broad and Anderson are nowhere near good enough. Brig back Bairstow to open, Foakes as keeper, Wood, Mahmood, and Bess.
5:0...Loaded
Joe Root... named after his father no doubt.
Who’s the captain making the same mistakes again then Nutless?
Private school boy goober!
day night tests are the best, not sure what the poms think
Why not moen ali in eng playing 11 ?
England have come into this series believing their own hype and the sentiments or their amateurish camp following journalists - most of them with no experience of Australia. Being an Australian and seeing the pap coming out of the English camp, I thought, "they're going to get a hiding". Not because Australia cricket is that good, it's just that the English administrators are so bad. Just so bad. If the England Cricket team was a football team they wouldn't even be in the Championship.
What hype? I didn’t see any hype. Everyone thought they were going to lose
Poor Joe Root has got the world on his shoulders. it must be the toughest job being an England captain when the teams playing so bad.☹☹ ROOT V AUSSIES. The bowling coach needs sacking damn straight.139 years and they still don't no how to bowl in Australia. Is this a joke because I am not laughing. Man up England.
5 medium pace bowlers never works in Australia. Joe captains by computer stats and probably picked the side on the plane coming over
Batters just have to come good, that's all.
Feel for Root here. That batting line-up , except him, of England is beyond pathetic
Silverwood had it coming
5-0 is my bet before a ball was bowled sadly.
Open with Bairstow
Make Ben Stokes captain already.
We can't bat silverwood out
Be ready for 5-0
Abhi bhi waqt hai....ravi shastri ko call lagale aur poochle wahan pe jeetne ka formula 😅
they should bowl like that bird's dress, bodyline!
England lack test batsmen
Root and Malan = England batting more or less
Get the lads together joe passports at the ready bags packed and come home save yourselves further embarrassment.
He’s just pathetic…same old feeble comments.
Another 10 years England team playing all Muslims .. shame on England’s cricket .. they can’t find a good English opening batsman 🙂😂😂😂
england has no chance of winning ashes this time..before the start of ashes i already knew it ...they don't have good batsman..and their good to bowlers like anderson or broad are old now...they rely on joe root too much ..joe root as a captain is average.. Australia has a well balanced team against them.. in australian condition the only team that can beat australia is india..
How are your abdominal Root sir?
