How's the autofocus on the Sony a7iv? That's my main concern as I'm looking to buy a mirrorless camera to record my future cooking / baking videos. I am currently using a DJI Pocket 3 which is great but the autofocus isn't always the best. I basically hesitate between 4 models: the a7iv looks great but it doesn't have the AI chip for AF. The A7C2 inherited the A74 sensor and has the AI chip, but it's a compact camera which comes with its downsides (no dual SD card, mini HDMI, more prone to overheating). The A7R5 looks like a beast but isn't much recommended for video apparently. The A7Siii is getting quite old and I'm afraid its price tag will fall quite low when it will be time to resell it in a few years. Sounds like I should wait for a hypothetical A7S4 or an A7v, but I kind of don't want to wait another year. Maybe I should go for a second hand A7S3 then resell it as soon as the A7s4 or A7V is released later this year? Sony makes it so complicated by chipping away some features on some models and not on others :D
I’m planning to switch from an APS-C model to a full frame. Do you think it’s worth buying a Sony A7 IV now? Or should I wait for the release of the A7 V? I definitely want to buy new.
I use a Sony A7 IV and we also still have the Sony A7iii - and to be honest ? I don't see myself changing for another camera for years to come! Unless there is some exact feature it doesn't have that You need, then I would say it's amazing !
if your budget allows for it i would get an A7SIII or FX3 - both of which are pretty much the same camara and aimed towards videography ive got a A7RV for photography and am looking at a FX6 for videography in the next year or two - because i can use my GMaster lens on both camaras anyways - thats my two cents 😊
Good choices ! All are definitely great cameras 😄 For me the Sony a7 IV is perfect as I want one camera that can do everything (that I need) in good quality, a nice hybrid camera 😄
hahha - good point about the 4K vs HD - its true - why bother with 4K when most people watch this informative videos on there phone or tablet - im currently listening to just the audio as i do minial tasks around the house 😊
Exactly! Why I do think 4k looks nice and is more crispy, the amount of storage, and processing power needed to edit is just not worth it (unless You have an abundance of both) And let's not forget that depending on the place where You record, in 4k the camera will be quicker to overheat 😅
in my experience the flip out screen is less importent now that the Sony Creator App has a remote control and monitor which i use all the time when doing videogrphy rode has a aliminum phone holder then could be attached to the top mount on the A7 - actually i might do a youtube video on this at some point 🤓
Saying a7iv is old in 2024 is wild! You dont need to keep upgrading 😅 dont be a sheep folks. These company wants your money.
Never said it's old, rather the opposite - the whole video is about how this camera is great and I don't see a point in any upgrades etc. 😄
It just came.out. this is just weird

it actually a new camera, I still shooting and filming with 5d3 with no problem at all!
I think I’ll keep it until the a7v comes out

Is this camera better then the Canon M50 cuz it’s time for me to upgrade 📸
Yess, very big
Nice explanation..👍🏻
Thank You! 😄

That's true, but for run and gun style of shooting (like travel vlogging) a flip out screen is a nice thing to have !
Now make a video about, canon 650d I use that.
Unfortunately I don't have it, so can't really make a video about it 😂
I still use an a73 lol
A7 III is still great tho ! We also still use one ! 😄
Sucks for video amazing for photos
Why exactly does it suck for travel ? 🤔 It's a great hybrid camera 😄
@@SebastianDylag Rolling shutter ! Just unusable
@@henrystravelcorner How well do you shake your shots when shooting ? Give us a practical example .
@@henrystravelcorner Bro, I bet you don't even have one.
No. It's slow, it still doesn't focus well, the Sony firmware doesn't solve anything, a big rolling shutter effect. Canon R6 II is better.
Seems like I must have been using a different Sony A7 IV, when judging from Your comment 😅
