@@thelmaviaduct reconsider his need to punch or parry. IF you are looking at his highlight reels he is saving a lot (and I mean a lot) of shots from 12 yards or less to the goal line - which is a very short reaction time to save the ball. Take a good look at his punch/parry prowess Mama tends to move shots AWAY for a corner or from danger or a follow-up. A lesser keeper (for example) like Jordan Pickford makes "great saves" that stay in play for a winger or second striker shot.
On the injury front, I do wonder if the club have a plan, or think they do anyway… the management of trent, Gomez the first week, there’s a lot of talk about load management, I feel like they are much more on top of when players are close to breaking (touching all the wood possible), now of course players will still get injuries but maybe that’s the plan, nowhere near the same level as normal? It would also be very welcome this season when we play so many games. Has anyone looked at Slots injury record at his previous clubs? Would be interesting to me.
Totally agree with Josh, he’s a two footed player and they few and far between in premier league and worldwide. His highlights reel from last season is fantastic after coming back from injury like vvd take a while to get back. Buying him now for 15 million would Best Buy in transfers windows ever
What I've noticed and its a carry on from last season is that we never seem to get our heads either to our corners or the oppositions. It was identified that our tallest players are in zones and the other team have their tallest players on the move. Potential weakness for the future for us.
By signing Chiesa. The LFC squad will contain not one but 2 teams capable of making the EPL top 6. No other club in England is capable of interchanging Attack, Midfield and Defence at their training ground on such a level. Putting aside the media infatuation of big money signings. The overall build shows intelligence and vision. The 2 best teams on Merseyside really will be Liverpool and Liverpool reserves.
Why haven't they mentioned that Juve have told Chiesa that he's surplus to their requirements this season and have asked him to leave the club. He's also not training with the first team squad. (Very similar to what's happened to Sterling at Chelsea.)
Genuinely 2 footed, IF he recovers (it took Virg a season) then hes ideal. Plus insurance if Diaz gets poached or Salah heads to Saud. However hes not what we need at mo but he is adaptable (a midfield Gomez?) BUT hard to see FSG not making money on the lad even if he doesn't kick on.
Always worries me when a club actively wants rid of a player, I feel like they must know something we dont.. a bit like Bayern must have known that Thiago was rarely going to be available. Otherwise, if he can get back to near the form that won Italy the euros, we have a belter of a bargain here!
@SkoolyAd yeah, I just think if the guy is that talented, surely they'd want to keep him while he's in his prime. There must be something not adding up for them.
Chiesa...before hearing anything from this vid, my take is that, as a transfer, it reminds me of Arthur Melo. There is a title to win, would have been better this summer to focus on 1-3 additions that are pretty much guaranteed to make a % difference to Liverpool's game. Instead, we are zeroing in on a cheap punt on back up players who should be subsidising their own wages for the privilege of being invited to Anfield. An absence of further edit to this post means that my take unchanged after listening to Neil/Josh. Ok...a tinge of hope added as a back up for Salah, but that won't be 2,000 mins in the PL and I note that City n Arsenal won't be worried by this signing, eh
I remain hopeful, but I can't remember a better "deadline day" transfer than Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Ryan Gravenberch is the latest with potential to be better, but LFC rarely score big on the final day, usually a bit before.
I'm not convinced and I think it's a risk he hasn't set the world on fire the last 2 years so can he come to the premier league a lot faster than Serie A whereas Gordon would be no risk but maybe he,s not available but I don't really want us to start buying 2nd or 3rd choices but who am I to say ? Also who,s he replacing if anyone ? If Juventus have binned him why are we taking the risk ? YNWA
Has Josh been poached from your rivals? Or was he out on loan? Shrewd move by AW, the boy Williams has clearly come on leaps an bounds after a couple of seasons getting experience in the lower leagues! 😉😁🤣🤣
Has a Juve fan, he is finished, he shouts at everyone on the pitch has the mad had 3 ballon d’or, he needs to be more humble. The first thing that Motta did was get him out of the team. Just ask yourself why anybody in Europe want to sign him?
@@garycarey9376 Chiesa is on £150k per week at Juve, TRIPLE what Diaz is on. With a low transfer fee (non-existent after January) it's unlikely he'll take less. So, that would make Chiesa the 5th highest-paid player at LFC without kicking a ball.
I listen to the Deep Dive on Redmen and then come straight here because I just can’t get enough of Josh Williams
Love listening to him and Neil together
@@CarlClinto I would watch Neil talk to a brick wall
Nobody can get enough of Josh, on of the best when it comes to LFC content.
whats his podcast called?

glad to see josh on more shows! he does some of the best lfc analysis bar none! always insightful and zero fluff
Cheers lads. You’ve given me an optimistic slant on Chiesa. Fingers crossed that he gets over here.
Lovely piece gents. Also, in terms of production. The lighting and grade looks great!
Didn't know Bill Hicks was:
a) Still alive
b) Scouse
c) An LFC podcaster
This keeper mama dash is unbelievable! Great signing!!
He seems to punch or parry shots. Top keepers catch and retain possession, would love to see his stats for this vs Alisson.

Fair fucks to Josh , he really is a good watch. Enjoyed it lads
Ramsey Bolton is a bold addition to the TAW crew.

Josh should apply for a job at LFC as a data analyst for the first team....he would be great...
Listened to this on the pod and the fellas need to remember not everyone is watching
I love your book so much I even like the words in that one :D
Neal is either The Jolly Green Giant or Josh is a wee lad.

I worry that the Chiesa rumours have been started by his agent, in order to get Barcelona moving and increase their offer for him...
That's what I'm thinking too,but barca are running out of time.for this new nike investment to be accepted by la liga before the window closes
Exactly. This is Zubimendi all over again. He won’t sign for us.

Liverpool FC and Italian footballers, they are like chalk and cheese. We have never had a decent Italian player who was ever fit.
Nice analyses….. for Nunez detractors, his stats is way above Watkins. His goals and assists last year is better than Oshinhem.

Motta basically getting rid of 6 first teamers not just Chiesa though.

Bayern wanted to keep Thiago. He wanted to leave to try the Premier League.
@LOGOS422 did they? Ah.. I thought he was told he was surplus to requirements, so they got a deal sorted.
Fair point - but his wages are also relatively high, so that will add to their desire to ship him out...

You'd think so yeah but we've been interested in him for a few years so hopefully we have kept a close eye on him.@@stuart_edward
I just dont think its great if Juve are selling an italian international for £15 mill 🤔
Nunez is going to have to play a lot smarter if he wants to get minutes for Slot. I think this manager does not suffer fools. Up the mighty Reds.
I don't get excited unless I see him in a liverpool shirt.

What shampoo do you use Josh? Hair is unreal
22:47 is there something wrong with those stats? 436 presses. Foul, tackle, challenge, interception , blocked pass, blocked shot, all zero.
Chiesa has the talent, can it translate to the prem? Can hebstay injury free?
Don't think we will see anymore players coming through even Chiesa
