I clicked RUclips and what do I find at the top of my feed - a new Blackie video. Hooray. I’ve used solar showers (thin plastic with a tube) and an old fashioned canvas bush shower with shower rose (army style from the forties and fifties). The old style is the best I’ve used. These days I take the bush shower and two 15lt bottles which I painted with under car body protective (tar like spray). These bottles are further sprayed with engine black paint. I can sit them in the sun and boy do they heat up; then I pour them into the bush shower. In Australia we have a portable shower system that runs off a car battery and a LPG gas bottle. The device also has pump with filter that water is sucked through a hose and on the other end is a shower hose. Cost $300 to $400 Australian dollars. There are other options here as well.

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP. ORDERED ONE THRU THE EBAY STORE. IN THE NOTES TO SELLER, I GAVE YOU CREDIT FOR THE REFERRAL. I'VE BOUGHT FROM THEM BEFORE THIS WAY. JUST MAKE SURE IT'S KAUFMAN'S OF SAMSON ALA. THIS SHOULD WORK GREAT ON MY SAILBOAT, CANOEING OR AT A BASE CAMP.
have one of the civilian made 5 gallon ones in the black plastic. very useful item. the only hassle i have found is hoisting that 45 to 55 lbs high enough into the air for it to be used. the home made shower curtian is a 6 x 10 or 6 x 16 tarp & a bunch or pvc pipe. to make a frame
The shower bag looks much better than the ones we had back in the day Blackie. We had some that were canvas, about 3 gal and we had some that were black vinyl, probably 25-30 gal. On a field exercise at Ft. Bragg in Aug of 98 we had been out in the dirt and humidity and heat sweating for 3 days. We even did a 12 mile road mach in the sand on day two. My squad leader and I found a shower site set up for an other field kitchen exercise set for the following week. Only one shower had water in it so Sgt. Perez told me to go first. Well I did and as he was getting his shower a formation was called. I had to go to it and stand among that company of soldiers who had not had a shower for days. My buddy Perez laughed at over that for years afterwards. You don't really know how stinky you are till you get clean then stand among 168 other stinky people.
if you're not using the shower, i would store it somewhere cooler. that little temp gauge will wear out and get "stuck" on warm or higher sooner if stored in like a garage in 3-4 years or less. those can last a while if you toss it in a closet or something

I used a Solar Shower for several years. It held 5 gallons and the water would warm up to about 100 degrees which was more than warm enough.

How do you keep the nozzle from getting clogged with sand? Or if that isn't possible then how do you clean the nozzle after it clogged?
