Yoo Youngjin (Yoo as in "you") had a short singing career of his own in Kpop back in the 90's...a singer-songwriter and producer, he has trained many SM artists when he became a vocal coach for SM, as well as a producer and manager. He vibes the most witb D.O., and people call D.O. his "son" in the company. He has put out a couple albums back in the day and collabed with many SM artists back then. He is a well known r&b singer, and everyone in Kpop knows and respects him. As of this year, he has left SM due to the company's ownership issues. That's a BIG loss for SM.....💙🌺

Youngjin has written and produced many of EXO songs so that's why EXO is EXO as you know them. The perfect match 😂😂 D.O. is known among the industry as Youngjin's "son" cuz of how similar and powerful their vocals are. He doesn't train just anyone, I mean you gotta have that very special thing to have such a great, talent man to help train you even further.
Yall need to obviously react to the live, youngjin isn't there but its still as beautiful and enchanting as the audio itself. He's definitely a very well known and respected producer/songwriter & idol himself. So don't worry, we completely understand why yall fell for him too, D.O. already made his mark with yall, now you're just seeing where it all came from & who help him shine just as bright.
If you search D.O. predebut you’ll find a video from a high school talent show. He was already doing those runs. Plus his bowl cut 😂
Yoo YoungJin, who sings the studio recorded version of "Tell Me (What is Love)" with D.O., is an SM singer, songwriter and main producer. He was one of the first few artists signed under SM way back in the early '90s and he is still working with SM today.
Yoo YoungJin is one of the reasons why SM is known as a vocal powerhouse company, because he has been a vocal coach for a lot of SM's artists. He is the vocal coach who helped train D.O. to be the amazing singer that you hear today. He is the one who wrote and produced EXO's pre-debut songs "History" and "What is Love," which, now that you have heard "Tell Me (What is Love)," I am sure you can hear his influence on several of EXO's songs.
D.O. and aespa's Winter are his most prized students, and they have even been nicknamed Yoo YoungJin's son and daughter because they have such similar vocal styles and abilities.
Yoo YoungJin has produced or collaborated on a large majority of SM's songs, and he is the one that is most often credited with coming up with the most iconic parts of SM's songs. For example, he is the one who does the ad libs and high notes in the background of Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry Answer" MV, and he is the one you hear harmonizing with Taeyeon in Girls' Generation's song "The Boys," etc. (Back in the day, his vocals and/or ad libs were used in a lot of SM's songs.)
If you look up Yoo YoungJin, you would be surprised how many of SM's songs he has been involved in over the years, even still today. If you made a list, it would probably be easier to list the songs he didn't work on. LOL

Do Kyungsoo is just an incredible person that I will never stop admiring. At first glance, the album, the songs and his vocals may seem simple, but in fact it is not so at all. A large range does not make you a better vocalist yet, because another important role is played by the "technique", which Kyungsoo undoubtedly has great. He has such control over his voice that he makes all the transitions from low to high notes completely smoothly and even seems to make no effort. Quite naturally, during a song, it can change its timbre from incredibly sweet to sexually rude and sound simply amazing in each. Kyungsoo is one of those few vocalists who can make your heart flutter.

As you requested, here is some information about sir Yoo.
Mr. Yoo Youngjin is one of the main producers at SM Entertainment, although I am not sure if he is still there. Like you know already he is also a vocal coach and, besides D.O., has trained some SM artists. Few of the most popular artists he trained, besides D.O., are Taeyeon from Girl's Generation, Winter from Aespa, and I believe Changmin from TVXQ. (Just as a side note, these three have a song together which they also performed live during the last SMCU at the beginning of the year, it is called "Priority", in case you are interested to hear more from Mr. Youngjin's ex-trainees). Regarding his personal discography, unfortunately I don't know much yet, but I don't doubt that it is worth diving into as he is very respected for his work in the industry.

Yoo Youngjin was a singer, songwriter, record producer, and vocal trainer for SM. Every group in SM has had songs written and produced by him. He apparently left SM last month after 28 years.

Yoo Youngjin unfortunately has a tiny discography with only a couple great songs imo (Unconditional Kismet and Crazy Love). I assume like all early Korean r&b singers he realised he either had to do nothing but ballads or go behind the scenes so he became one of the main SM producers and was involved with ton of their best songs with TVXQ - Before U Go and EXO - What Is Love probably being my favourites.
I always found it odd how he spent the last 20 years making songs for people that are almost all worse singers than him but marketability is obviously way more important than being a good singer.

Yoo Youngjin, had many prodigies in SM but only 2 of them got a special songs, 1st Xiah(Kim Junsu) former TVXQ(now JYJ) the song called Beautiful Thing, 2nd, D.O. with Tell Me What is Love. YYJ left SM this year following Lee Sooman. All the chaos that happens in SM thanks to LSM 😂
