Mallard chatter

  • On each side of the channel at Botany Pond, was a pair of mallards, talking to each other in duck talk. There's some head bobbing, too. I'm not sure what they were saying, but the "chat" was followed by one pair attacking the other (nobody was hurt).

    This is a territorial dispute display (chatter, lateral head-bobs, the opening of beaks and body posturing) between the pairs of ducks; if no one yields by leaving or backing off, they will be driven away by the more dominate and aggressive ducks.

      Oh wow, that's terrible. We gotta adress this dispute to Duck UN until it turned into a full scale duck war
