I looks at this stage and I remember what Bruce said about the death trap lightning bolt stairs on the side. This era of Kiss was high energy, fast tempo and littered with good new songs.
I didn’t see them on the asylum tour but never understood how they could keep Who wants to be lonely off the set list. That was one of their best songs on asylum. Did they ever play that live on any tour?
Thank you for posting this video. Nobody at the time could beat KISS in concert. The full out energy and onslaught they brought. This is 10x better than the last 20 years of them ruing their legacy.
Sorry I just have to correct you on a couple of things: They were in their early 30s here. You can`t compare the energy you have then to when you are 50+. In 1985, KISS was actually not very popular. They always gave it all on every show but to say that nobody could beat KISS live in 1985 is not true. The reunion was cool and I`m glad I got to see them in 97 but they should have ended it about 2000, instead of hiring Eric and Tommy. If they had went back to where they left it off with Bruce and Eric, they would have made more great albums and gotten a lot more respect for not sucking on that Reunion money.
Asylum is one of my favorite KISS albums, so I am thrilled to see this concert footage of the band on the Asylum tour. Gene and Paul are both over the top with their stage moves: Paul's frenetic dancing and Gene's wild kicks. Fun to watch. And it's so cool to hear an 80's KISS setlist with songs like Fits Like a Glove, Uh! All Night, War Machine, and others. I saw countless tours in the 2000's, and while they were all fun, the setlist got to be monotonous.
You know what's interesting they don't have this concert on vhs. They have Animalize, 2 Crazy Nights tour from 87 in Philly and 88 in Tokyo and Hot In The Shade 90. But no Lick It Up or Asylum tour. This was their best tour in 85-86
That's what I've been thinking about since 1990.In 1985 my family didn't have a video player at home yet ,so it didn't matter whether we had a video from each tour or not. In 1987 a video player came to our house and I bought Bodokan in 1977 and I saw moving KISS for the first time. After that I began collecting all the videos and noticed there didn't exist proshot videos from Asylum tour. I have been hungry for Asylum tour !
I saw this tour in Chicago. Gene and Paul should have toured with Kulic again. This was a great show Besides Ace Bruce was the best lead in the no makeup carnation of Kiss.
@Coogan Didn't know the RUclips police were actively exploring posts and I had to spell out EVERYTHING. For myself, I like more 1980s/1990s era material than 1970s. Again, you do you.
Certain songs do not work live such as Under The Gun. I like that track on the album, but it loses something live. Maybe it's too fast, and the better KISS songs have more of a groove.

I was there! My first KISS show.

Crazy, my coworker told me he threw a tapestry up on stage during this concert and at 8:15 there it is. Phenomenal
I was at the show too I think I was second third or second row and I have some really good pictures too
@@markbensette7083 i would love to see them. Do you have a picture of them holding that tapestry up?
I enjoyed the asylum album i just wished they played more songs off of it live!
I agree I liked Any Way you Slice it Live
One of the Live songs I hated was I Still Love you,
I wanted to hear Who Wants To Be Lonely
@Coogan They never did
Paul não pode cantar mais essas músicas ( impossível)
Eric carr o melhor o simpático, carismático e humilde! Super baterista inigualável! The Best!

I agree, it sucks there's no Pro-Shot complete show's from LIU and ASYLUM tours. I love both albums/tours
They were embarrassed of themselves that year.
They told on their documentary.
@@prraliaross9858 I’m surprised Asylum had great songs

There is an Asylum pro shot that surfaced recently.

I agree. They should have listened to Bob Kulick and grabbed Bruce up and just had Vinnie write for them.
He did write some good songs.🎶🎸🤘
Sweet!! Kiss in their prime! Thank you for the upload!
@Coogan To each their own. I prefer Paul's voice in the early-mid 1990s from a vibrato / texture perspective than in their infancy. You do you.

"well that's not what you said". Are we done yet?
@Coogan Moving on to more important things now...
1975-1979 was their prime.
Excellent!!! Love this era!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you for sharing this. I saw them on this tour in Saginaw Mi but, after all these years, it's gotten difficult to remember much about it.
🎉
Crazy how fast they play ...love it
Thank you very much from Madrid!!!
love kiss in the 80s
1980-1985 best period in Kisstory!
Saw Asylum tour in Duluth Minnesota May 1986.
Thank you very much for this jewel. KISS FOREVER!!!!🤟🏼🎸🍻
So good ! Thanks for sharing !
Magic!!! 🤘
Totally awesome!!! One hell of a good bootleg!
tHANKS!
Amoooo paul
Very nice. He rocks
Anyone have the Full Set List with time stamps please ? Thank You !
Who cover was the hilight!
How to hell did you manage to get a camcorder in there?
I would have to edit a concert from the asylum tour!!!!
Only reason I am guessing... the set list was so short.😮

Bestiales
I see why Rams wanted him as a Punter now !
Back when Paul was real
Exactly.
Played some of the songs way too fast.
bruh 1080p
Sounds loud as heck
Genes kicks would have made Bruce Lee proud 😂😂😂😂😂
They made one mistake that cost em big time: them white boots?😢
Those kicks Gene does are Sexy & Dope or Dope & Sexy !
I think he looks like an idiot!!!
Kulick and Stanley have talent. Simmons not so much.😮
Wtf?? 😂😂
Too fast, way to sloppy...
Those kicks Gene does is embarrassingly bad LMAO.
That's cause he had to get in practice when he could. He was gonna be the Punter for the Rams !
Gene's high kicks are so LAME!
Me gustan todos mucho y Gene sin el disfraz es mucho más divertido 1000 veces y Paul Stanley sensacional es lo mejor...❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
I just commented about that too LMAo!! Whatever convinced him that those kicks looked cool I will never know!!!
@@MontserratCruz-l3iIndeed.They're just jealous.
I agree, that's just something he should not be doing, looks so stupid!!!!!
