Love the videos! Keep ‘em coming 👏 I’ve been doing a lot more rigging so always learning the safest ways to do it right the first time. When you get a chance let me know what rigging straps are you using?

I sometimes tack a weld on the turned eye bolt to keep them from opening up That's a Pro Tip!

That would make it a welded eye. Good pro tip! Thank you for watching!

Hey Jude, I'm really interested in more info on your ratchet straps with the shackles on the ends. That would be a very helpful tool for me to have in my kit!

The straps was a game changer for me. 20 years ago I would muscle up the speaker into position, but as I get older, and smarter, the straps offer so much help. I will be doing a video on the straps in a little bit. Stay tuned and thank you for watching!

Why would they specify a smaller cable? Doesn't make sense considering the installation location.
Um, do you normally strap yourself to the lift?

I thought that was interesting too. Curious what their reason was.

Great questions. 1) The church was concerned about the 1/8” aircraft cable looking too bulky and the 3/32” cable gave us a total WLL of 540 LBS across the 3 hangingpoints. 2) Yes, normally I’d be tied off but we flew to the job and I thought they would have the proper PPE. Allowances can be made to work in a lift with high safety rails and not be tied off. Thanks for watching!

@@audiobuff If aesthetics were a concern, could the bolts have been painted white and white heat shrink slipped over the cables?
