Viktoria is now my daughter-in-law and Nick is my son! I watched these young people negotiate the lowest of lows, and see how they now enjoy the highest of highs, with optimism, flexibility, strength and love. It is a miracle to me that they made it through the years of constant pain and difficulties, to the place of such joy that they knew was possible! All of their family and friends danced and laughed and testified at their recent wedding. I don't see how any future challenges could be more difficult than what they have already experienced. All the best to my darling children!

Lupus and then Stevens-Johnson syndrome are such a horrific combination. I thought seeing people surviving Tetanus was bad enough but this is worst. I am proud of Viktoria for surviving this terrible ordeal and kudos to your son Nick for staying with her through the worst most challenging times. My husband made too many promises before we got married...after getting married I went thru a lot and he was barely there for me. And I keep remembering his words and commitments he had for me when he desperately wanted to marry me. This girl is so lucky to have a guy who didn't leave her alone and actually cared for her and married her. What else a women will need ❤️
May be he meant it when he made those promises, but wasn't able to follow through. Nobody's perfect. I truly believe how important it is to know your partner. Does he bull💩 me around, or is there is something else going on ? You're gonna have to be smart and very flexible with a life time commitment. 'Cause that's how life is. And we change and discover yourselves differently through the challenge we have to endure and delusion we had about stuff.
I was engaged to a man who was similar. He had a lot of amazing words to say about how much he loved me but it turned out they were just flattering words as he got cold feet and left in silence. Broke my heart to pieces. Regret giving my heart to him but I learned a lot from it and got closer to God.
He is the right one. Many young men would have been afraid seeing how ill she was and backed out of the relationship. Wishing them a long happy marriage.
Same the other way round. I know atleast two acquaintances of mine that were left for dead by women they thought would fight with them during their health issues, but both women bailed. The good news is that both guys are now with nurses that took care of them.

I'm a retired 40+ year ICU RN and this video just stirred my heart. I have taken care of pts with Stephen Johnson Syndrome but to see full recovery like this just brings tears. Answered prayer from God and a loving family is definitely the way to recovery. May your lives continue to be blessed.

However, some people do fight destiny, which usually fights back, and hard. But sometimes, only sometimes, there happens a "concentration" of energies, prayers, determination....or maybe destiny, and fatality gets to be reversed. We are all fighters, and when you fight, you never loose...but sometimes, we do win. Blessings. And hope your heart will be soothed.
I lost my daddy a few months ago from pancreatic cancer. I had a really hard day yesterday and didn't get out of bed. The panic attacks and depression got the best of me. @@iamhis5580 my reaction was from Bactrim antibiotic. So now I must avoid any sulfa based antibiotics. I’m in a few support groups on Facebook for SJS survivors and many reacted to Bactrim as well as Lamictal. But it can be any medication - sometimes even just a virus can trigger it which is very scary. Unfortunately it’s often misdiagnosed by doctors which can lead to many complications. Quick diagnosis and early intervention makes a difference to survival rate and also the long term effects
Whenever I feel like giving up, I must remember there are people like Victoria who face unimaginable pain and suffering but triumph with such grace and strength....very inspiring. I wish them all the happiness in the world 💜💜💜

OMG I saw this from first symptom until unfortunately ICU and death. It was a lady in her 30s. We were nursing students and they let a group who started with her follow her. It was interesting and terrifying at the same time. Such a horrible sad thing to see. I will never ever forget it and I am 72. Glad that you had a better outcome than our poor lady. This was back the 80s. May you live a happy and healthy life going forward.

"Its hard to look at the future when you're at your lowest point in life." This is so true. My mom is a dialysis patient and she had a leg amputation and its just sad that I hear her say, "I'm gonna die anytime soon anyway".. this is very inspiring. Makes people want to cherish their lives.
Don't say things like how petty your problems are. Don't compare what you went through with anyone else. You have every right to your feelings whether they be negative, positive or anything else. Be proud you're still here, still going on, even if it's a struggle. No one else did that for you. YOU did. Be proud of your accomplishments.

I completely understand what you went through. I was diagnosed with Steven Johnson disease too when I was 22 years old. It was so painful and it was just debilitating, but with the help of my family, and doctors I got through it. So I'm glad and happy for you to had someone to help you through it. I think it really goes to show how sometimes, your spirit and sheer will to live can save your body when it is on the very edge of death. I have lupus and ITP. I absolutely hate it. Some days the rashes feel like my legs are on fire and my pants continually rub it all day for work Amongt the exhaustion and heavy amounts of steroids, kidney transplant. It doesnt end This is giving me such inspiration

I completely understand what you went through. I was diagnosed with Steven Johnson disease too when I was 22 years old. It was so painful and it was just debilitating, but with the help of my family, and doctors I got through it. So I'm glad and happy for you to had someone to help you through it. So heart wrenching seeing her struggle so hard just to embrace him.. I think it really goes to show how sometimes, your spirit and sheer will to live can save your body when it is on the very edge of death.
