i got this last week, this is a really great figure. I found that my hip ratchets weren't very loose , but i did have an issue with the back-heavy weight. but the angling ankles helped a lot
This does look pretty cool, like most Planet X figures. The only thing is, you have the great engineering used to transform the robot mode legs, then like several beast- formers it is... "hang the beast mode head behind the back, fold the beast mode feet under the robot mode arms, and pretend you don't see either". I am unfamiliar with this figure in the fiction as well, might be accurate, but it is still unfortunate. From the front at least it's not a problem, like you and probably most people I don't display my figures back- forward, but I do prefer it when a transformation is smooth even on sides of a figure that aren't readily visible. :} Still, another cool Planet X offering.

In the year 2025, after the defeat of Galvatron and Scorponok, Deathsaurus became the new new Decepticon leader. He amassed a small army of Decepticon Breastforcers, a type of Decepticon whose armored chestplate becomes an animalistic Mini-Con and a gun. These included Dinoking, the Japanese counterpart of Generation 1 Monstructor, and Liokaiser. Deathsaurus has one known weakness, human children. Thankfully, the Autobot leader at the time, Star Saber, ultimately defeated and killed Deathsaurus in a Japanese-style run your enemy through with both combatants striking with their swords at the same time. But if someone already told you, I understand. Anyways, good review.

There are several versions of Deathsaurus. This one is based on IDWs version, as big as Overlord or Megatron. The anime Deathsaurus is Combiner size, like MP-24 Star Saber.
In the description for the toy it says it has a vehicle mode, but I don't see it. I was skipping through the video to see his vehicle mode but I don't think you showed it. Did I miss it?

Also, I was looking for some Transformers Robots in Disguise 2001 toys, but since that tolyline is pretty much discontinued, they've become harder to find. Some examples include: Mega Octane, Movor, Ro-tor, Rollbar, and Armorhide. But since Hasbro distributed them as separate figures like the P.O.T.P. Dinobots, it makes creating Ruination a lot tougher.
PX is a really good 3P with their punctual releases. I kind of see it as a sister company to MMC. They're also stepping up their game with this one with those crispy sounding ratchets and addition of die cast. Shame I have to be picky with my collection due to financial constraints, need more Lost Light crew. I'm pretty anxious about the SXS Nautica now since it's been a while since it was announced

Redeco this guy in purple and call him BW Galvatron please. I don't even care if there's no drill tank mode, we just need an updated BW Galvatron. Even if it's a redeco/retool of another figure. I have them side by side right now and while the robot modes look different despite having a similar kibble layout on the back, the dragon modes are pretty damn close so long as you ignore the drill tank kibble on Galvatron. A new chest plate, a new head, new feet, new wings, a new dragon head and a new tail piece to accommodate the tail tip claw thing/swords. Maybe even new robot shoulders/dragon hips too. Overall though, I'm disappointed in the lack of ratcheting wing flap hinges. One hinge is tighter than the other and the loose one droops sometimes. Tightening the screw does not help either. There's also too much diecast. Or rather some of it is in the wrong places. The robot feet are perfect but the thighs and forearms aren't. Maybe in the dragon feet and the tail tip instead. The tail tip so that it helps direct weight into the lower legs with the feet to make a more stable base. The dragon feet for the same reason in dragon mode. Actually, since there is also diecast in the shins, the tail tip wouldn't need any. The shins and feet make a stable enough base and the shins also direct the weight to the center of the dragon over the feet to keep that mode balanced as well. So just the dragon feet would need the diecast. Having diecast in the robot and dragon thighs does nothing for the figure other than adding unnecessary weight. I like the weight overall but he is a tad too heavy to fiddle with for too long because of the diecast in places that do nothing to add to the figure.The diecast should be used to help balance the figure or to strengthen joints are parts that may be too weak when made of plastic. Having it in places that don't do either of those things is useless to me and only serves to raise the cost for no reason. Otherwise I really like the figure as I'm already asking for a retool.

I like how they fill in the legs. Most of them just leave the legs hollow.
I like that feature.
Plus, it avoids the tail being a weird accessory. Parts forming averted, plus a clean finish. Everyone wins.
