The vocalist's screaming style might probably be in regards with DIR EN GREY and Neo-Visual-Kei scene. The bands in that scene began to feature screams and heavy band sound in addition to existing Visual-Kei sound with its mellow and gothic characteristics, in 2000s. DEVILOOF is one of the followers of it and is new in their approach to eccentric deathcore soundscape.
honestly their biggest influences seem to be nocturnal bloodlust dir en grey and slam in general
Idk if Kyo was the first guy to really master that crazy whistle scream that he's known for, but Deviloof's vocalist is the only other vocalist I've heard match it.
Kyos definitely where you hear it coming from in the modern VK bands, dimlim also does it very well and I believe that had former deviloof members
Except visual kei doesn't have anything to do with sound.

I grew up on a lot of Japanese metal and fell in love with the uniqueness and insanity of their experimental sound. The downside is there's no going back once you listen to this kind of stuff on your morning walks lol

This song is basically Keisuke (the vocalist) going "look what I can do!" and it's amazing
Those mario voices your talking about are called whistle fries. Not alot of vocalists can do them. Examples are Mike Patton, Devin Townsend,That gut from Cradle of Filth and one of my favourites. Kyo from Dir en Grey.... another Japanese metal band.
Learning how to do them as an average vocalist it’s very … special

The dir en grey style whistle scream gives me lyfe. It’s a staple in more heavier v-Kei now. Btw recently I learnt how to do it and it’s not that hard but it sounds cool as fuck.

Nik, you should react to VIP or Strike In Fact by Nocturnal Bloodlust. In my opinion, they were the Japanese band that opened the door to this new wave of heavier Japanese bands. I also recommend Vanitas by DIMLIM.
