the banjo will always have a special place in my heart- it is how my parents met he was the banjo player for a band they met at a party he didn't want to be at, and she wasn't supposed to be at they spent the rest of their lives together
If I were a banjo player/student, I would beg for more of these. But I realize how exhausting it must be making them. Just keep following your heart. Every video has been a blessing to us.
Great rendition. Your videos are just amazingly fun to listen to. Thank you for spending all the time that you do to record, edit, and publish these for everyone to enjoy!
This is your best one yet! I imagine myself just rolling along riding my bike (bicycle) at a steady pace, swerving around pot holes, then flying down a hill lickety split. Then I climb up a steep hill huffing and puffing. I rest up a little bit and settle into a steady fast pace and sprint the last hundred yards home against the wind. I need to catch my breath.
I love it when the music hits your sweet spot, and your full smile comes out. Music is supposed to bring you joy, and yours does to you and everyone who watches you.
Oh wow! The abandon in your approach to this song is a refreshing inspiration, and I could listen to this over and over for all the variations you hit upon.
I hope this isn’t weird or anything but it’s nice to see you without a hat. Anyway the banjo playing is enviable. Although I’m too old to be envious I’m just rather impressed. Please keep it up you are impressively special!
Shout out from the Bear's Hiking & Outdoorsman's Club here in Ranshaw, just wanted to thank you very much for picking so well, I have every one of your videos pumped through our social quarters jukebox, and all of us here enjoy listening to you play !!
Drove above and along the rivers and creeks of Montana today ...this would match their boisterous frolicking perfectly, reminds me of the tune 'cripple creek'... Blessings and Shalom in Him
What a great tune. Thanks for making an otherwise awful Monday just a little better! Hope your weather out there on the west coast is nice. Fantastic tune. For this tune alone, banjo camp was totally worth it! Well done.
I love this long version format. You were my lunch companion today and it was a real treat to hear you play. Thank you for sharing your talent with us Phoebe
0:18 & 0:20-The lead up and then full smile. Love when the musician finds those first moments of joy they automously show while playing a song. Looks great on you. 💛
You're a great improviser! Lot of different feels in there, and you dare to go places. In my opinion, that keeps the instrument interesting forever (or some decades, I have yet to find out).
At first, I didn’t realize it was that long at the one take jam session, that was truly incredible and you possess awesome talent. Keep up the good work.
Love the experimental extended version in fact would like to see you go even harder on the tough parts as the variation on the theme. Reminds me of post punk and indie bands that embraced a bit good dissonance as an important part of the song. Also you may enjoy (WOVEN HAND David Eugene Edwards) from 16 Horsepower
Когда я слышу Фиби, даже с закрытыми глазами, я сразу ставлю лайк! ))) Слов не нужно, это превосходно! Ты даришь отличное настроение на весь день! Спасибо! Успеха, Фиби!
That was great! Yeah do some longer takes jammin and improvising over different tunes once a few vids. It will help you leveling up your skills for sure! Great thanks
Please tell me you're making public appearances.... clubs, festivals, playing with a band somewhere.... you're too good to keep it just on YT. I'd love to see you interacting with a crowd, and they'd love you too!
What a great video - yes, I love the extended versions, I love all the variety in the tune and what you did with it, and omg, does that instrument sound beautiful. This was just what I needed this morning. Thank you!
How fantastic with your new tunes. This one could literally drive the dancers mad on the dance floor. Thanx so much. Great that you got stimulation and learning from banjo camp. I've learned to love banjo, I don't mind imperfections, it's alive. Too polished can kill the vibe, Martin London UK
go go girl ! Such a lively house, keep sending those tunes, really vibing here from Belgium, playing your songs is a true invitation to motionless travel.
and btw my vote is for extended!!! My morning wake up is The Great Remember, VERY Extended Version, 20 minute extended, Ode to Ozma and the occassional new vid. That being said, Your channel is a treasure trove of amazing smiles waiting to be had in a day... I've been a fan for a bit but still haven't made it thru all the vids partially because i love discovering a new one when i am feeling particularly down and need a lift.
There were bits in there that reminded me of Aaron Copland's Hoe-Down, which was based on Bill Stepp's performance of "Bonaparte's Retreat" on the fiddle (and now after looking that up, I want a steak for dinner 😄).
Atta girl! Of all your many talents, fearlessness may be the one that serves you best.

That deserves three thumbs up 👍👍👍
Great rendition. Your videos are just amazingly fun to listen to. Thank you for spending all the time that you do to record, edit, and publish these for everyone to enjoy!
This is the most banjo banjo performance of all time. I love it. You're a hero.
Really dig the longer format! Nice to really get to know a tune, and appreciate the creativity on where you can take it with the variations!
Please more long form jam sessions like this !!!!❤❤❤

I loved this extended version! It really shows how talented you are! You don’t just play the tune you explore it.
Excellent playing! You’ll work out those rough spots in no time. And, great cap!
Looks like Elvis and the cat clock are dancing to your music, I’m a new subscriber for a couple weeks now, keep up the good work. Love the song.

Thanks for sharing the many variations to this song. I especially liked the part where you have it go a half a step low. Unique.

That's typical Old Timey Start a tune, get in a groove and stay a good long while . Good practice for playing at a square dance or a contra dance.
Exhilarating Miss Sanders!! 😎😯🤠
Great song and great job playing it.
Que lindo Phoebe tu banjo me trae paz. Gracias!!🪕 🎶👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✨️
You play that so good, sometimes it sounds like there is 2 people playing, crazy speed at the end was amazing

Good one, I don't know if I could go that long without messing up.
