- When producers cast the Whitney Houston stage show 'The Greatest Love of All' the South African Belinda Davids was the perfect singer to hit those high notes
As producer John van Grinsven from Showtime Australia was looking for a star for his Whitney Houston tribute show, the P.E-born Belinda Davids shone out and was selected out of 15 000 women across the world. Since her teens, Belinda has been singing purely Whitney Houston songs so this production was a real dream come true for the singer. She's so like Whitney that Belinda is getting eight standing ovations through each show and the production is now booked to tour Australia, Europe, Asia and America after her South Africa tour ends in Cape Town on 19 April.

saw Belinda live in Sydney last week I cannot explain how her voice is perhaps better than Whitney's the whole show .......the crowd was so wild!!!! for my $50 i would have paid 3 x times that price!

Belinda is considered a Whitney Houston impersonator. Glennis does sound a little closer to Whitney but Glennis is not a Whitney impersonator. People come to the show to see Whitney and Belinda with makeup looks more like Whitney. Glennis doesn't look at all like Whitney. So even though she may have the edge in voice she doesn't have that entire Whitney package that people are interested in seeing.
She is fabulous and has many “Whitney Houston tones” but no. She is a force though. If you want to hear someone who fooled even me a fan since 1984 listen to a song called Ain’t It Funny” by Buckshot LeFonque ft. Tammy Townsend. She sounds closer to Whitney than I’ve ever heard.
Ok good. But it's sad how they properly give Whitney Houston's any credit. For Ex. Oh how Whitney I spired me, how awesome of singer she is. How if it wasn't for Whitney I wouldn't be singing her songs. I song like her, but there's o my one Whitney Houston and I could never be her but be like her. These would have been better said by Belinda or the Producers.
