"Why cant they just be all the same shape?"
Kid destroying decades of anti repair practices in one line. :P
... and kills her father's screwdriver business in the process...😂
it was so adorable and kinda sad at the same time cause even child understands it
@@danieloberhofer9035But screws would exists still, they're all just the same shape.
They can't all be the same shape because there's a large difference between torque capability and just like everything else in engineering, you select the type of fastener that's appropriate for your requirements and application.
Of course, some vendors just use proprietary fasteners just because they can, and that's bad too.

7:20 "I dropped my pencil" Linus, the proper response would have been, "It's ok honey, it runs in the family"
It's so wholesome watching Linus interact with his kids and the kids are actually interested in what he is doing.
I really feel his daughters frustration with different bits and screws!
Must be nice to not have a disappointment for a kid.
As my dad used to say.

Watching Jake & Linus raise their kid together is so wholesome
That kid will go far. She's got Yvonne's looks, Jake's brains, and Linus's willingness to be on camera.
Jake is helping raise his younger sister.
As their surrogate, Yvonne must contribute at least a little bit. Thank GOD the kids look like her, though.
@@notme222 Also, she dropped her pencil, great start!
ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT THAT'S THEIR KID AS IN... oh god. my day is ruined by what just popped into my head lol.
Really like the cut-in's of someone explaining things. Feels really good, allows for the fun silly content and a bit more information to be stuffed in. Would really love to see that sort of idea be used in more videos. Entertaining sillyness from people, and the actual video writer explaining things and being a bit more informative
I love the fact that LTT is sticking to their promises..keeping video production in lesser quantities while also adding in the more informative sections where mire context is needed..good on you guys
Linus' daughter is such the perfect blend of him and his wife, you can definitely recognize the parents it's adorable.
yeah its amazing
Good thing she got Yvonne's nose.
I loved the faces she was pulling in the background whenever she could
yeah, she drops things
WOWWWW A child looks like both of their parents!! 😮
Watching Linus build with his daughter was wholesome and makes me want to build something with my kids now. He genuinely spoke to her like she was the most important person in the room, not “creating content”
More of that LTT!
Absolutely! I hope she keeps appearing in videos in the future. Maybe in 5 to 10 years she will be a regular. Schooling her pops and us old guys along the way!
i agree a healthy dose of child labour is always accepted

Goodness she’s grown up and that old video with her felt like yesterday 🙃 glad this channel has been around as long as it has. You guys are great
Loved how you let your daughter be part of the process and answered all her questions. I try and do the same with my girls, even though it would obviously be easier to just do it yourself 😅
Im sure Jake´s thinking the same about his son, Linus XD
I love how she asked such a great question that not only did the explanation make the video, but it got it's own b-role. Smart kid
Right! i loved that that. She's asking the important questions here 🤣
why can't they be all the same shape? 'out of the mouths of babes' wisdom beyond her years@@Kkicks_
Kid's asking the real questions. Sadly, the real answers are saddening.
It was nice to have Linus's daughter there for a little bit, she seems to finally be at the age that she's somewhat interested in what you are doing instead of just the results and that was really nice to experience. You should have let her put her name on the GPU plate or draw something on it, so that something of her is on the inside, also makes for a fun moment when you decide to upgrade or change it and you come across it.
It was also nice of Linus's older son Jake to help his dad finish the computer.
These are the ltt videos i love the most! Just chill fun and informing. The viewer feels more involved and seems more personal. Love it
The cut-ins of extra nerdy details is great! Congrats on the video improvements you all worked on!
Seeing Linus working with his kids enjoying a hobby he loves (and that they seem invested in as opposed to just being there purely for him) is precious!
He's the owner of a 100 million dollar tech media company. You can safely stop calling it a hobby...
@@tapsofosiris3110 I more just meant that the classic pc building stuff is the hobby since he's grown the company and his job well beyond the initial hobby of pc nerd.
@tapsofosiris3110 Also, I was just commenting to point out a nice moment a man can have with his kids. Made me think about times I had with my own father. No need to be rude.
The "I don't like pink.... As much" moment was adorable.
Agree, before they seemed to be just interested in the result and just going along with it, but now she seems to actually be interested, which is fun to watch.
Love how Linus massively expands the company building space, but ends up with his family home full of employees lol.
Maybe I missed something but I think what you think as being his home is not his home but actually a set built inside the warehouse building they work at.
It's not an actual home. They sometimes hint it in some review videos "we bought this for our kitchen set" or "we will use this for our kitchen set", kitchen set being basically a setting not an actual kitchen, etc.
They built a kitchen, living room and it's just basically one side wall decorated the other side is a open workshop and empty space etc. Just like you would find inside a movie or tv show.
But yeah sometimes they do build or customize things at his home which ends up being a video content.
On a related note I seen even some streamers who have a room made as an set and not actual room, one side that on camera is all decorated even have a bed while the other side is an empty room just pipes and plastered walls, like a workhouse not even actual house room. Some have huge basements that are taller then the actual house rooms so they convert those into stream rooms and sets, shops whatever ...
@@minmogrovingstrongandhealthy Okay but there's a clear difference between the set "house" and his actual house. This video was shot at his actual home.

Linus' daughter is absolutely precious and their interactions were actually so wholesome! I loved her correcting him haha

@@vnc.t no, just no (pardon me, English is not my native language) linus is right in this opinion, and i know because im a mechanic, you need different kind of bolt/screw for different kind of need, maybe you need high heat resistant(ceramic bolt) or you need stronger material bolt thats expensive for something that will handled great force (wheel bolt or nut, or bolt that hold your leaf spring), or it have difference clearance than the other side, there is need a lot to account just for bolt/screws/nut (fastener, lol i've been trying to search that word)
Ps: i've always hate sometimes engineer put such big fastener (the one that you need a lot of forces to crack it open) in tight space
Your daughter is literally a mini-Yvonne!! so adorable
Love Jake's cut away explaining things in a more detailed fashion to maintain that level of integrity. I can definitely see you guys striving to ensure people are getting the correct information ever since the issue earlier this year.
manually pumping water through a custom loop with one of those bottles has has to be one of the most absurd and humorous things I’ve seen in the realm of PC watercooling
The jump to Jake deep-dive explanation, yesss. I am by no means a crack at risers but had a preconcieved "hmmm will that not cause issues" attitude.
And then you guys took the time and perfectly reasonable explained it with a appropriate heads-up message - and hey, the final line "at best, don't go for a riser" was fair and nothing but fair; not ruling it out, but after a case well stated a perfectly fine summary. Love it, love it so much.
Bouncing back better than ever, lots of love to the LTT crew
I wonder if this will effect small form factor builds. Maybe those long riser builds where the gpu is practically in its own cubby will be a problem if you want full gen 4 speed?
I wonder if this was scripted from the begin with, or if this is a case of someone saying "hey should we maybe explain this a little bit more?" prior to publishing this video and they actually took the time to shoot Jake's insert.
@@marcel1416doesnt matter. Either way, you and people like you will find a way to make it a negative

I love when Linus works with his kids. He basically treats his kids like his subscriber's. Moments like that just make my heart melt. Thank you for being our collective tech dad. Much Love, Peace Out!
He talks down to subscribers all the time wtf
I always love seeing the kids involved with things. This specifically reminds me of stuff with my dad when I was younger.
For me, it's like seeing the awesome dad that I never had.
My dad gave me a sledge hammer and a pry bar and told me to demo a small room. Shortly afterwards I learned what plaster & lath was and what a pain it is to demo. I sure slept well that night.
Seeing linus working with his kids is so wholesome omg
Dude, your kid helping out is epic!! They looked like they were having a lot of fun!!
great to see the little one asking questions and learning with her father, very wholesome stuff and kinda hilarious when linus gets corrected xD
Wow, yeah, the tolerance on those 3d printed parts is, I mean, it's just perfect. I can't imagine how many iterations of those pieces Antoine went through for this one project. If he's getting other work done on top of that, like for example I know he's a primary associate for Labs testing, that's pretty impressive.
I’ve always been a longtime subscriber to LTT, but I just want to say I appreciate how recent videos seem to have that extra layer of polish. The videos maintain the fun factor but also stick with being informational and accurate where possible.
So cool to see you getting your daughter involved while assembling the system. I remember when I was that age being involved in stuff like this was like the coolest thing ever. Also she was so right about the screw heads lol. How nice would it be if just about everything took the same bit.

Man, that is a well-created video. Kudos.
Linus, I wanted to say I’m super impressed by how involved you are as a parent. I wish more people were like you with their kids.
It's much easier to be a good father when you have tons of money and can spend more time at home with your children.
@Furchee it's not a matter of quantity but quality. If as a we don't have much time, cause of, you know, life..
Make the time you have count, make it memorable!
@@Furchee money has nothing to do with parenting. plenty of rich folk that never see their kids
@@FurcheeMoney makes things easier, not having enough makes everything harder, yes you are correct there.
Having money doesn’t make being a parent easy, it makes it easier, not easy. It’s easier to be a good parent if you have less external problems of course. But being a good parent still takes active effort to give your kids the support they need to grow up to be great adults. It’s not easy, and there isn’t enough of it, so even if it’s harder for others its still great to see.
@@bradhaines3142 Yes of course I think their point was more that having money makes it much easier to be involved in your kids lives more because you don't have to spend as much time working. Still doesn't take anything away from Linus though, he seems like a fantastic parent!

Your daughter is adorably smart and absolutely correct about the screw bits.

No, Philips is ideal for when you want the screw to fail before the material it's being driven into fails. Flat is great because it's insanely cheap.
Always love the wholesome content, and man are the kids getting big.
4:03 this makes sense. Since it's a fresh application of very wet thermal paste, putting it back won't make any difference. However replacing the cold plate with OLD dry thermal paste (that's been there for a considerable amount of time) will leave air bubbles. So if the thermal paste has been there for years, clean it off and apply new thermal paste. I tend to re-do thermal paste with my CPUs and GPUs about every 2-3 years.
Hand pumping water through the loop is actually hilarious and I can't believe I haven't seen it in an LTT video until now.
