I have been a subscriber for years, i suddenly realized i never thanked you for the amazing content and information, so thank you very much for what you do Mr. J
With all the depressing stuff on RUclips theses days this is such a treat. I think I will watch it again.
Cheers!
Your bubble reflects you, it's not the other way around.
one view is just not enough
Your videos are probably the closest I'll ever get to touring around London. Thank you, as always.
I can’t wait to return to my favorite city in the world, London. Until then, I’m so grateful for Joolz’s Guides!
loving this. Reminds me of being a kid with those I-Spy books.
Thank you Joolz for making Sunday just a little bit better!
We watch and then rewatch episodes. Absolutely enjoy the videos. We love how Joolz blends music and narrative in guiding us around London. Would love to have a private tour with Joolz some day.
I had so much fun watching this. Its always a history lesson with you Joolz. Hope you are doing well. Your friend, Steve Bonds from Bay City, Michigan USA
I'm finishing my Sunday in Australia watching the one and only Joolz. I'm a Londoner but been away for almost 20 years. Love the place, love these videos
Same here Dan ,but born in Crawley
Those pesky £10 poms.
Vicki Diana Coghlan I wish try !putting three zeros on the end of that figure😉
@@Ivorbiggin
By ship or plane????
Going first class you snob Steve.
Vicki Diana Coghlan
No way , me no snob , sparky by trade flew on plane with two children under 4 back in 93
Yet another rendition of mindblowing, but incredibly pleasant miscellanea. What ON EARTH would we do without you delightful ramblings.
For all lesser mortals - enjoy. For tomorrow we.....
What a great video - thanks Joolz. Amazing work and a fresh pint to finish. Cheers !
Only 3 minutes in, but I love this idea, Joolz! A great way to engage and bring joy outside the video. Excited to hunt, whenever one can traverse hemispheres again, that is!
Joolz, I have learned so much from you. I can't wait until things are better and I can visit London and look for all these things. I was in Clevedon on Friday and noticed a GR postbox, which made me think of these vids. Thank you for being so entertaining and educational. Stay safe and keep the vids coming. Lizzie :-)
Great to see you finishing up having a pint in a pub! Hard to believe that you haven't done this since March!
Horay a new Jooz video. The day just got better. I love how it's called "street furniture." The implication in my mind is that I might chance upon a comfy chaise lounge... I never have but live i hope such things exist.
Hope springs eternal!
I've seen a sofa made of curved bricks near the docks
I worked for architects/landscape architects in Sydney for 9 years and it is still known as street furniture
Lovely one Jools. When I was a lad in the 50s the street was lit by gas and the road surface made of wooden blocks covered in tar, also we had a coal hole cover.
was left with an elderly lady while my mother was at work in South London and she still had gas lighting in her maisonette. I was sent to pay the Coalman, who lived in a prefab in Balham & the rag & bone man called on his horse driven cart regularly
Haven't been so stoked for an upload notification in long while!
same!
this man cheers me up with his jolly nature.was watching to many car accidents and bikes being stolen this makes a refreshing change.
I was laughing when he turned to that couple for the answer lol
They were very helpful. Lawyers! I had to be careful.
I was in London in 1994, I remember seeing one of those stink poles, that fancy one in Kenington cross. No points here, that was very long ago. We in Cambridge, MA, still have those "MILE" markers. There's one in Harvard square on the corner of the cemetary there. Thanks muchly Mr Joolz 👍🏻🙏🏻😊☂🎩
I miss Boston! My favorite city! Have wanted to go to London, my whole life!
As soon as I’m let loose in the capital again I’m gonna nonchalantly search out these hidden gems. By nonchalantly I obviously mean fervently. Good work again sir.
My favourite RUclips channel! Can’t wait to get back to London to spot these 🥰 thank you for your amazing videos!
Ah, beautiful London! Visited in 1979, too young to appreciate little delights such as these. Thank you so much.
One of the best channels on RUclips. Such a wonderful guide.
Can't wait to get back to London to follow in footsteps of Joolz..!!! well maybe not the exact footsteps ..
There were water troughs even 30 years ago in old Calcutta, the city of my youth. We didn't know what they were until my mother explained they were for the horses, during her childhood.
Well who ever wins should at least get a free Joolz Guide tour ("...our very best wishes!"🤣)!😉 I just adore your personality & enthusiasm!!!🤩
Marvellous - I'm in Korea, but used to live in London many years ago - thanks for bringing back memories, but teaching me stuff I never knew.
Hello Nigel yes u are absolutely right. Whenever we travel to other countries and we live there we learn the about country culture the mentality and the people
Thank you for educating me about piss shields, I was previously oblivious.
That's what I love about London, there's so much fascinating history. Thanks Joolz. Who knew that about the milestone.
Another spiffing video Joolz but without the doubt the most cheering sight was you at the end actually in a pub enjoying an ale! As the saying goes It's not over til the tall gent in a blazer is downing a pint.
The last time I was in London was when Yugoslavia still existed, so I really adore watching your videos and seeing how much has changed. :) And I absolutely adore your outfits, you always look so snazzy. :)
It is definitely time for you to return. I had a big gap in trips...from 1986 to 2003; it was a shock to the system to see all of the changes. Now, I try to go regularly before I get too old. Good luck.
Love love love that bit about stretchers! Urine deflector bit was (lol) hilarious too. Thanks Joolz.
My favorite JG video so far! Plus we say "Language, Timothy" in this (American) house on the regular. :-)
i live in toulouse, i'm english. i love london. your videos are great. there are now lots of interesting details for me to look out for. thanks jooolz.
I wonder if you could make a tour of trainstations? ...Big fan of your channel, I love your attention to the little things! Best regards from Denmark :-) :-*
I love watching your videos and think of London as my second home! I was thrilled to see your feature on building fire insurance plaques - my father was seconded to London in the late 70s with Sun Alliance Insurance and we lived there as a family - a wonderful opportunity for someone from the colonies. Such fond memories - thanks Joolz. Anything on Knightsbridge in the future?
Thank you Joolz - sanity in a mad world. Keep on going my friend, we'll follow....
Love the new shoes and the video as always. 👍👍👍👍🏆.
Joolz makes you feel so warm and welcome... I'm a Romford boy who was always intrigued by the big smoke and he just encaptures it so well. Really do love his enchanting wisdom and knowledge
Thank you so much, Joolz, love all your trips around my favorite city but now you give me great ideas for MY next London. Had to miss this Feb but I’ll be back next year, for sure, and then I’ll be sure to play your game! Cheers! 🥰👍🇬🇧👑
See you then!
@19:43... That nice innocuous sound of a flatulent had me laughing so hard I almost broke a rib!🖐️😂😷
Working today so only just got to tune it....another great video and a great tune from the brilliant Terry St Clair 👍👍👏👏
Love street furniture and these items are fascinating--thanks for a terrific tour.
The BEST way to start the morning here in Wisconsin USA. Stay safe!
1st time I've seen your channel really enjoyed the info. It's so interesting to see how the past is so incorporated into our every day life. Thank you Sir.
I always enjoy the music in your videos, Joolz. Thanks for the nerdy history lesson, it was very informative & entertaining. Stay safe!
Love your guides Jools. Must have been a unique experience to film in these strange times - especially during full lockdown.
While at art college I studied the street name plates in London. Tied to potteries and tin and enamelling workshops. Some painted, all sorts. Fascinating.
Excellent as always Jules. Love your boater and Jacket, no I wonder who else copies our wardrobe!
Joolz talks about "gems", but he's surely a gem himself in the way he keeps up the line to London in these strange times. This video made my Sunday evening!
As marvellous as this film is, as they often are, has turned London points of interest into a sight seeing equivalent of Trainspotting 😀😂🙄
Another brilliant video guide, well done Joolz !!
Thank you so much Jools love your every walk & the history of London. Haven't lived there for ages but enjoy every visit 💟💟💟
A unless (or not so unless, depending on how you look at it)! Early post boxes had the letter slot pointing at an angle downwards. This proved to be a bit of a design fault, as, rain would get in and soak all your lovley 18th century mail, so latterly, they have them angled upward which is to this day - result - nice, dry post! ;-)
Joolz, you rock! ...plain and simple. I hope you announce the winner for all to see.
I can’t wait to fly back to London just to play this game. Great history lesson too!
Apparently that bollard wearing the hat was available. LOL
Another great video. Your videos have lifted my spirits during this depressing Covid lockdown.
I hope return to London one day
Another saucy one Jules. Thank you. Have a great week. 😷😷
Another fun video from Joolz... Very interesting fun and informative
Joolzie, oh Joolzie what a wonderful challenge! You are a Jewel! How many points do we get if we spot you! Really loved this exceptional video...well done! Every time I hear Terry St.Clair...goosebumps, love the quality of his voice! Thank you for your videos, it really lifts the spirit! Take really good care...stay safe! Much love 💖x
Good to see normal service has resumed somewhere in this mad world. Keep up the good work
Wonderful Stuff, Sir: that's My kind of Day Out! We have just one gas lamp extant here in Melbourne, Australia. I urge people to look up when they walk the city's streets - so much detail to see!
Thank you, I have now subscribed. 👁️
My friends are going to be blown away when I hit them with the knowledge I've gathered from binging all your videos these past two weeks. A really hidden gem of RUclips - marvellously researched, fantastically shot, and masterfully presented. As a Londoner who has often walked past these things without much thought, I can't express enough how much I love your videos! Cheers!
I say...looking quire dashing in your boater, blazer & wingtips, Joolz! You dandy, you...
Wonderful video, Joolzy! Wish people had the passion for the history of London town like you have!
Multiple viewings are always devoutly to be wished for. Such fun to watch. I love what you do!! 👍🙋♀️🥂
This is your BEST VIDEO EVER ! Loved all those little old tips.
We want more !!
I watch your chanel since a long time, so, I know where these interesting spots are, and I would have won a lot of points ! 😊 Ah! Just sad I live in Canada far away from London 😉
Thanks Joolz. London looks amazing, especially if you love history! Look forward to visiting.
Thanks so much for walking through my beloved London childhood and grown up memories golden years!!!! From lockdown South Africa 🌍😇🎥🙏😨
I have enjoyed every minute of your video! Can't wait to see the next one.
Joolz never ceases to amaze. Very Interesting. Thanks.
Great car spotting on the fire insurance street. 2 Citroen DS a Citroen SM, and a Citroen BX. Niiice!😎😎👍😉
Dave Bamber I think that was filmed in Roupell street at Waterloo. I remember seeing those old Citroen's parked in the street. They were made when cars had real character.
Glad to see you up and about again Joolz. I was worried London Lockdown was negativity affecting you. Keep your head up😁
Good morning, dear Joolzie.
You've really found sprezzatura in this stylish striped jacket, fascinating filming and lovely music.🇷🇺
Outstanding! This gets posted to my several friends who had planned London visits this summer..
Amazingly amazing and brilliantly brilliant. Must make it to jolly old London post pandemic side. Ascot and spectator shoes as well.
Hi Joolz
You always make a point of pointing out what you call "stink pipes" but I thought you out to also know that they weren't just created for the comfort of passers by. They are really an integral and vital part of the sanitary sewers created before modern waste systems when it was required to put vents in the houses. these old sewage systems were functioning by gravity only, and were mostly built with the minimum rate of fall avaiable for the sewage waste to flow to its outlet. This required the installation of air vents in the system to prevent pressures building up which would stop the flow and cause backup of the pipes and sewage overflow in the houses, as well as the system failures which you describe. A vital consideration to reflect on as you notice them all over in the older sections of our cities. Great vid though. and thanks.
The fire Plaques were common enough in the United States in the old Days, though here they are called Fire Marks. It's a well enjoyed hobby to collect them, and some are quite ornate. Nifty indeed.
Spending my New Years Eve watching Joolz and planning our London trip! Happy New Year, everyone!
Always good...Thanks for adding a bit of colour to the world.
I get the idea of the “piss deflectors”, but I’d just back up and piss under them. I’m drunk, it’s a game 😎. Love your videos sir.
Love your videos - my husband thinks you sound like Michael Palin. 😁
Another great video Joolz! As someone who has spent their entire life in London it's fascinating to see how much I don't know about the city.
What a great video. It had many interesting places. I like very much history, so IT had also very interesting history too. Greetings from Turku Finland and have a nice and sunny summer.
Such a great historical street snooping channel. I must have walked past these places hundreds of times and been completely oblivious to all these historical landmarks and insignias.
Great, all those historical curiosities in the streets of London.
As always another excellent video sir. I am rather excited to be in England next year to visit family I haven’t seen in 20 years. WOOHOO!!!
Cheers mate
Great to see another video by you. Greetings from South Africa.
Very dapper shoes old chap!
Love all your videos, I can’t wait to be back in London ! Thank you👑🧳💂🏽♀️🍺🎭🏰🇬🇧🔎
Lovely, wonderful, lovelyful! Your films make me glad. Thank you mr Guides!
My mum has been ‘collecting’ cattle troughs on her travels around Australia for years. In particular the ones put there by a certain person, I think Annis & Bills. Now I look for them when I travel.
I randomly found you on my smart TV I have London roots and I'm really loving the bolla hat look really does suit you
Another Joolz video so soon, Thanks, I thought I would have had to wait another couple of week before my next Dose of Joolz Magic. So glad you finally managed to get a pint or two in the pub at the end. Very informative and entertaining as usual. I always learn lots from your videos.
I have pictures of 2 of the items from previous trips. London's first water fountain and a post box but I am not in the photos.
Thanks for another cool video. Found a few more things to look for when I eventually go to London again.
Absolutely fascinating, I’ll have to have a look next time I’m in London.
Those stretcher railings @12:41 are very impressive and ingenious too.
