Lando Calrissian wasn't a traitor, he saved himself to save everyone else later. He did redeem himself. You totally missed Paul Reiser as *Carter Burke in Aliens. A money grubbing psychopath if ever there was one*
This video does get me thinkin'. Lando complains of having "had no choice." Is that true, though? BEFORE Vader begins "altering the deal," it could be that Lando just doesn't look too closely at his choices. Seems to think the rebels and his friends will get a fair shake. It's only after it becomes clear that he's facilitating their downfall when he changes tack and comes to the rescue. Fair case he's traitorous before that.
People tend to overlook that some thousands of people in Cloud City would've been on the wrong side of a pissed off Darth Vader if Lando was not cooperative AND successful in handing over the protagonists. I mean look what happened to the Jawas, Uncle Ben and Aunt Beru in ANH. People treat it like "Just resist or try to undermine the evil PSYCHIC overlord" and well, that's probably how you end up a cooked like a piece of fried chicken. If Luke didn't arrive to distract Vader, Lando's attempted rescue probably would've resulted in the whole lot of them dead too. Lando did the best he could with the circumstances.
These are good and all, but Hans betraying Anna in Frozen 1 will be the all time greatest betrayal. The writers did a great job making Hans look like your standard hero/good guy and then pull the rug from under you.
In reality, the man who betrayed the Spartans wasn’t disabled, he just wanted said Persian luxury. But in the movie, I would argue that isn’t a betrayal. Spartans are quite clear disabled people are not as human is them, how on earth can they expect loyalty?
"I’m gonna level with you, boys: I’m not sure that this treasure hunt’s gonna pan out. They got this depression on, I got to do for me and mine!" Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
Ephialtes was a historical figure, or at least featured in the long-established mythologies concerning the Graeco-Persian Wars, so the betrayal shouldn't be a shock - at least to those familiar enough with the history to know how incredibly wrong 300 got it. The entire point of DONNIE BRASCO was an agent infiltrating the mob to find things out and tell his bosses those secrets; some sort of betrayal was always on the cards
Haven't seen Alien in awhile. The robot with murderous intent gets the jump on Ripley while she's not conscious, and his preferred means is a MAGAZINE?! 😂 Of course, in modern perspective, now that we've got LLMs and call them a.i., perhaps we can infer that programmers never manage to fully eliminate a.i.'s lapses in judgment.
Not that it's pertinent to this vid but, contrary to the statement at 9:11 there, I think Cypher had an interesting life in a different career. Review an Animatrix episode titled Detective's Story. It's about the last in a series of Private I's whom the Agents tried out for catching Trinity. I believe it's established that one of these predecessors got institutionalized, at least one turned up DOA, and one more went MIA. I think Cypher was that missing man.
I was going to say it's a stretch to include Lando. Good point, though, that his actions hinder the plight of the rebellion and he doesn't change tack until things start looking bleaker. Still, are we saying 3P0 was wrong about him? 😂
Comment before watch.....if mr orange isn't in this i object.... when mr white finds out and kills him for being the rat.... the pain in his face....wonderful scene. Just because mr orange is the "good guy" doesn't make it not a betrayal.
Landon betrayed han to protect the people he was over. Why are you star war fans so willing to forgive Darth Vader for the evil he did , but have hard time understanding what Landon did.
The fact that Cypher is portrayed by Joe Pantoliano should have been a clue.
Hey, no slander of Joey Pants will be heard

Ash was programmed, so he didn't have that much free will . . . Burke however was just a 1st degree slimeball
The real betrayal in Total Recall comes when Quade betrays HIMSELF
Carter Burke from Aliens should've been listed.
Agreed… Anyone who tries to facehug me deserves a slot.
Bruh, if Joey Pants isnt playing the police captain or a cop at all; and he's just part of a crew then you know he's likely gonna be the turncoat.
I think Cypher is the PI mentioned as being MIA in Detective's Story from The Animatrix.
Cipher made me wanna go through the screen

Great one!
Dr. Elsa Schneider had a choke hold on me as a teen lmao
The 1983 'comedy' film "Last American Virgin" is the ultimate. Then goes way further by running the end credits at the peak moment of the betrayal.
Glad you shouted out John Amos; he did a great job in Die Hard 2. RIP John

Nice to see LA Confidential get some attention. It’s definitely underrated.
Quade had at least three betrayers, all somewhat shocking, not just Bennie 😂
Street Kings and the Departed deserved some recognition on this list. Captain Wander and Colin.
U betrayed me by watching this
That’s right, goomaster. It was me the whole time. BWAHAHAHAHA!
Who shot Liberty Valance 🤔
The killings in the Matrix show Cypress was a coward who couldn't face the people who thought he was a friend as he kills them.
The Third Man, Harry Lime

The betrayal by the chief in Spy Game; and the assassinations by the commander in the first Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movie are notable.
Miranda Frost in Die Another Day.

Daniel Craig - 007
Lando isn't a cruel traitor
I was going to say it's a stretch to include Lando. Good point, though, that his actions hinder the plight of the rebellion and he doesn't change tack until things start looking bleaker. Still, are we saying 3P0 was wrong about him? 😂
Braveheart! Robert the Bruce's betrayal of William Wallace comes out of nowhere and is utterly heartbreaking.
it comes out of nowhere because goes against history
It wasn't a documentary.
Family betrayal is the ultimate...FRedo number one here...
Fast & Furious 6 - Riley Hicks
( Gina Carano )
Robert the Bruce betrayal in Braveheart

The hound - fox and the hound
08:05: "Goodbye, Bennie."
Can you now do top 10 traitors who got what they deserved
It was one in the video, although I haven’t seen the movie, where Johnny Depps character gets a medal 🥇 and (was it?) 500 000 dollars.
Uhh Braveheart
And yet #02 isn't as annoying as The Merovingian. Go figure.

Logan Ash in No Time To Die.
